Quick to sack

Premiership

I find it amazing that only a few weeks ago Stuart Pearce was a dead cert for the sack and now his team have 6 games to stroll to safety. Surely this is a good as any City fan should have hoped for at the start of the season given their squad. As a Villa fan I would have hoped that with O'Neil in place we would be above City?? I don't hear calls for Martin's head. Don't get me wrong, I am delighted he's there but it highlights how fickle the manager's grim reaper is!

Stuart Pearce is a good manager its not his fault that he buys plays who have had nothing careers and our coming to the end of them e.g Corrardi and who will just jump ship if they relegated so they dont fight and fell the pasion for the club like the home grown talent like richards and onuha

managers are not given enough time to settle and do the job they are paid to. in stuart pearces case he needs time to settle and to implement his tactics rather than being expected to compete with the stronger 4 clubs immediately, just as big sam has been allowed and is an exampleof a manager being given the time needed to build a club rather than expect instant results

That's the media for you.
Each story has got to be a bit more dramatic.
But when people read the media, some jump on the band wagon and agree that so and so must be sacked.
Why should the managers be blamed if the players can't put a few good passes together?
C'mon City almost safe.

Shows you how fickle the English media are and how English fans love jumping on the proverbial band wagon.

Notice that as soon as the media get off Pearce's back, the fans do as well.

Wxactly and look at us now. Big SAm was given time by fans and the board and we're a consistent top 8 side(you can't even argue with that Gunners fans after all 3 in3 top 8 finishes.) He took over the job did well and got us promoted kept us in league and then pushed up. Sometimes I actually think that Bolton is the reason fulham fans aren't happy. We were promoted at the same time spent two years down there however then we pushed up and did well whereas Fulham stayed down. Now well we're slightly annoyed at not beating Everton whereas Fulham are constantly annoyed at being useless.
Also Man City fans are the most fickle bunch win a few- they'll be challenging for CL. lose a few- get rid of Pearce and prepare for the relegation!

i think some do get carried away but this is because we are passionate about our club and hopeful about our future prospects.
the reality is we need consisitent football weekly and stuart pearce is the man to do that job,he is honest and will say when the team have underperformed, he needs time, some money and the fans to be behind him.
