ITV SELL ARSENAL STAKE TO KROENKE

comment on the article

It's the beginning of the end, ladies gentlemen-

"American entrepreneur Stan Kroenke has bought a 9.99% shareholding in Arsenal.

ITV plc this evening announced they had unconditionally sold their 9.99% shareholding interest in Arsenal Holdings plc to Kroenke-controlled KSE UK INC.

Kroenke Sports Enterprise have also co-owned American Football franchise St Louis Rams following their relocation to Missouri, while NBA side Denver Nuggets and the NHL's Colorado Avalanche are now too under the group's umbrella."

So almost 10% of our club belongs to the Yanks, so now how long until we follow Man Utd and Liverpool to become playthings of these American billionaires?

It might interest you to know that Kroenke is ranked higher than all the other Americans who currently own football clubs in the Forbes 400. He is also married to a direct descendant of the Wal-Mart founders. He should have enough cash to invest...

It doesn't matter so long he has a sound business plan.

The only benefit from this speculation is that Arsenal is valued £500m+ with premium only second to Man utd.Liverpool was only bought for £150m+ so our value is up with the big boys, don't despair gooners.if the board drag abit,it may just go up again meaning more money to pay off the debt for the emirates.

So what it's only 10% But i have every faith in the board at Arsenal ceratinly Mr Dein, but i'm not sure about edelman. i'm really not sure about him please please mr dein do all you can to keep us british, ie majority snares with british stake holders. going the way of the yanks or the chelski would be so wrong, so wrong, make a statement prove youre the man to keep hold of us. lifelong gooner and always will be, keep US BRITISH

Don't worry. Wenger says this is for the future and Mr Kroenke, if he isn't anything like Vladimir Romanov, we will be OK. Gillet and Hicks seem like they have done their research about the club. I'm sure that now Knoenke has 9% of the club, he will do research and see what a great club Arsenal is. By the time he takes over (5 years later) Arsenal will be the best team in Europe.

Totally agree with sedrecdoyle and roversince1938. Football has always been a labour of love for Brits and a business venture for Yanks. Wait till Kroenke as a majority shareholder blame the "bottom line" on Wenger to sack him for someone who is more of a salesman to advertisers then Gooners will cry a river.

This is a logical step for Arsenal and can only benefit them. But for all those banging on about 'keep them British' just take a look at the teamsheet and count how many Brits Arsenal put out there. Probably the least British club on these isles.
Also, which club moved across London from Woolwich to Highbury for purely financial reasons?
Arsenal have always been about the business, and success means good business. 'Labour of Love' thats the romantic ideal that they want you to think.

i dont like the way big business is getting involved in footie, it can only force up the gate prices, but Arsenal have to compete and progress, so good luck to them
