Pathetic

Scottish Premier Celtic
comment on the article

And no more than we deserved.

Dundee Utd actually deserved more than what they got.

We looked clueless throughout.

No bite or ideas in midfield. Totally toothless up front. A manager who sticks by misfiring players week after week simply because they must do some serious ass-kissing in training.

Here's a thought now. There were some on here calculating 'Super Saturday'. Remember? The day were were supposed to clinch the title against Rangers at Parkhead weeks ago, because many were banking on Rangers dropping points. Instead, we find ourselves on the back of 3 league games without a win and only 1 point to show from it and a Rangers side who are picking up 3 points every week since the game against Hearts in January.
I'm actually amazed I'm thinking this, but with teams like Killie, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hibs still to play, I'm actually wondering if we can throw this away.

Does some ultra-optimist want to tell me that this is merely complacency in the side or CL tiredness and that they are merely saving the title party? Or are the fact that we are not a good side who have been riding our luck with no opposition until now starting to finally show?

What are you moaning about. Every other team would rather be in your position.

i was thinking about the possiblity of throwing it away about 30 minutes into the game 2day father. i cant see where the next win is coming from.

the midfield is awful its there is nothing there. naka needs some intelligence to play off of and there is nothing.

and the strikers well you could rant about they planks all day

If this goes on much longer, I might have to start drinking bevvy again. Having said that, I think I am going to be ultra-optimist. It has been a very strange season and, until recently, even Rangers have offered nothing in the way of comptetition. I am not surprised that our players do not have that killer instinct any more: why would they? we have been winning easily without being ruthless all season. I don't think that is something you can turn on and off like a tap.

So, let's get this season out of the way. It is entirely possible that we will still win the league by double figures despite this incredible loss of form. Come the summer, we can maybe get in a few players and get in a good pre-season. I think next season will be very different from this one. I would imagine that Rangers will be a much more credible force and, unless something miraculous happens at Gorgie, Hearts will sink back down into the trailing pack. It will be more difficult but at least there will be no opportunity for complacency or weak-mindedness.

Fact of the matter is, although currently 14 points(11 soon) ahead in the league, we have rarely played well this season. Last minute goal(s) to win games is not skill or determination, it is pure and simple LUCK. I took a break from my anger at todays result to laugh at Strachan's interview post match on Setanta where he stated that the players played well and fought for both the ball and each other during the whole match. Nonsense! Where was the fight when Pressley took a boot in the kisser? Not one Celtic player took issue with Robinson as Pressley crumpled in the box. Well disciplined or no comradeship. Take your pick. I know what I thought at that moment in time when Robinson just jogged away.

The last time I saw a Celtic team this impotent up front was in the dark days when we had Willie Falconer leading our attack. Where exactly would we be in the league at present had luck deserted us sooner and many of those last minute wins never materialized?

Perhaps if our players removed themselves from the slow motion world of the Matrix and played football in the real world, we wouldn't be outplayed and outpassed in most games by teams able to string a few attacking passes together that result in a genuine attempt at goal.

Our luck has run out and now we are reeping the results that our play throughout the season merits. We are a very average, uninventive team with a few good INDIVIDUAL players.

IMHO, I believe Lennon must take a good look at himself in previous matches and realise that he offers nothing to the midfield and retire himself from his roles as chief stray passer and carparking bollard. He is a legend, but he surely must realise that he offers nothing to our midfield.

Anyway, 11 points is 11 points and surely Celtic can win the league without that giant slice of luck... can't we? Time will tell

This is merely complacency in the side, coupled with Champions League tiredness. They are merely saving the title party.

Just about the worst performance of the season. Dundee had all kinds of pace and energy and looked as if they outnumbered Celtic. It is hard to pick out a player who played well. Maybe Naka for his goal, and McGeady, who looks like the only guy who knows where the goal is and tries to head for it. That short passing game of Celtic drives me nuts. Hartley makes a five yard pass to Lennon, who immediately hits it back to Hartley. Strachan should post a big notice at the side of the pitch with an arrow pointing: "This way to the opposition goal."

Don't panic!! 2 wins from the title, thank you ICT!

Very obvious however that we have too many players that are not good enough e.g. Pressley at the DU goal, Hartley a disappointment, no strike partner for JVOH and could we not just bring on Naka for free kicks as they do in American football. Signing of Scott Brown is a must and a decent striker as I cannot see Scott McDonald making the grade.

Hartley is the most overrated thing since someone decided to invent the toastie machine. How he is allowed to take set-pieces for scotland is beyond me. He just floats really high balls into the box. no pace on him. The fact caldwell scored off one of them against France is an aberration, caused by poor french defending. DROP HARTLEY FOR CELTIC AND SCOTLAND
