What I want to know is did Sky back down along with the BBC , and if they did, do they think the bubble of football TV rights has now burst ?

Don't blame Sky at all. They have to pay a lot of money for rights to show the FA Cup and they never get the pick of the ties.

Sky pride themselves on being superior to everyone else. Playing 2nd fiddle to the BBC goes against their nature.

I think the FA are out of their minds. Would you give a contract to a firm that still owes you millions and failing to complete their contract? As for Setanta station what right have they to take the Tv rights of another nations cup compertation. No BBC and Sky should have had the contract they have done a wonderful job over the years.

what a sad day for sport in this country, selling our soles to a foreigner.
Ian Wright has talked of old fashioned BBC,but hes the one thats wrong, the BBC format, coverage and presenters are first classs, and knowledgeable, hes the one that played the fool, there is nothing grown up in that,he contributed nothing except foolery.
Now weve got adverts from start to finish,I urge you all to use your remotes and put the BBC on when the adverts come on.

Shame about Ian Wright, but I can see where his remarks are coming from. He might as well leave anyway, from next season there will be virtually no live football on the BBC anyway.

Great - we have to sit through adverts and Andy Townsend babbling on about crap now! At least most of the BBC pundits know what they are talking about unlike the muppets on ITV.

Sorry, with the Exception of Lineker the BBC is stuck in the past. Motson is useless, close your eyes next time he's on and listen to how little he actually talks about the game, and the way he constantly turns everything into a rhetorical question is annoying.

Alan Green on 5 Live used to be my favourite commentator, nobody could make the game sound more exciting, in the last few years he has become a ref-bashing, manager-mutilating self righteous pains in the backside.

Martin Tyler is still the voice of football, closely followed by ITV's Clive Tyldsley who is excellent.

Does anyone truly care whether the football is on BBC or ITV? I mean, care so much they won't watch it?

Well?

Don't all speak at once. So, "Who cares?", is my response to the original question.

Maybe if the BBC had stopped putting out all that other rubbish we see on TV then they maybe could have held onto the FA Cup.

Plus, once it goes to ITV it just means that there are going to be tons of adverts which really annoys me.
