ENGLAND FANS = DISGRACE

England

Watching the match last night confirmed why I am now totally indifferent to watching my national team, and cannot be bothered how they fare.
The fans who follow England are absolute fools; booing the team after 20 minutes; what kind of support is that. These people are clueless; their opinion is based upon what they read in the Daily Star and The Sun. Remember their disgraceful booing of Crouch and Hargreaves last year...well how wrong could they be, as they have turned out to be probably Englands best performers in the last 12 months.
I had the misfortune to go to Old Trafford for the game v.N.Ireland and 90% of the supporters fall into 2 categories; the idiots in the jester hats, nouveau 'footy fans' who only go and watch England, and little INGERLANDERS who boo opposition anthems, 'their ain't no black in the union jack' etc...
The guys who travel everywhere with their small club banners, and songs, the pathetic band..I even heard one complain at the weekend that the FA had the temerity to arrange the first game at Wembley whilst they were in Tel Aviv..so what ??
The standard of football is lower than Premiership and Champions League level...I cannot understand why everybody treats even meaningless frendlies as 'massive matches'...they are not !!
Roll on Saturday...lets get back to some proper football...

Frank Bough could have put it across better, but there are some reasonable points there. What I would say, & I had to put up with McClaren for 5 years at the Boro, is the vehement, aggressive baiting at half time was disgraceful and is never ever going to serve any purpose - these people are not and cannot be football fans; vent your frustrations certainly, but that was well out of order. Another point, again, it appears I'm a Mac fan -defo not!! Andorra were hardly trying to win the game, I've never seen so many men behind the ball - that's not football at any level, part-timers or schoolboy footballers!

If I was a footballer playing for 40,000 a week and then had to play for england under a coach who was a failure in his last job, why would I need to worry about booing, or even winning.

I was out thier booing at half-time. I had every right to boo. The lacklusture display by England was shocking. Everyone is going on about what a disgrace the fans were, what about the players? They come out and say its not 'nice' being booed after 20 minutes, did they do anything to try and stop the booing? No. They just carried on with the hopeless, half-hearted ball into the box.

From what i heard there was no booing before the match aimed at maclaren or the players, only once quite rightly deserved it did they get it. We don't boo to piss the players or the manager off, just to get some sign of effort.

In my opinion, you are all WRONG! you are the fans who Roy keane would describe as "People don't see the game clearly and go to the matches merely to eat prawn sandwiches. Every fan who criticises any football team is sad because they simply have nothing else to do in life. They are bored.i watch every football match there is. However, you should listen to the experts like John barnes and Alan Hansen (the voice of Soccer). they would say, give it time! people epect things to happen overnight, but somebody has to lose. there is always a winner and a loser. as barnesey says England fans expect too much and he's right. i would much prefer England to struggle in their qualifying group because it's much more interesting.it's boring winning 5-0 every game. i am happy with England and look forward to the forthcoming fixtures which includ Estonia, Israel, Russia and last game - CROATIA. i hope it all goes down to the wire and England need to beat Croatia on the last game. If you look at all of Englands previous qualifiers, they have always left it late, so why no previous criticism. Everybody should leave Mclare alone, he is a top bloke and he has my full backing. i think you are all idiots for not sticking by your country. it is you who ought to be booed by the loyal fans for being a traitor to your country. Cmon Mclaren, Stevie G and the boys. we know you can do it! ignore the boo boy idiots, they are just hooligans really, who go to the game to chant stupid songs - they miss the real football.they are on a different planet. keep your chin up Steve Mclaren!

England team = disgrace.

The fans have every right to let the players know their performances are substandard. If the manager doesn't have the guts to tell the players their performance is a disgrace, then the fans definitely have that right.

To all you apologists for McClaren and his wasters - fine sit back and suck it up, but don't dare try to tell me I don't have the right to expect better from my national team than the utter dross that has been served up over the last 5 games.

course you have a right to be annoyed but to give the team a bit of a confidence boost surely its better to support the team rather than throw abuse at them? i just dont think it right wen fans boo the team they support. ur suppost to be behind ur team through thick and thin.

People do support England, but supporting a team isn't just blindly clapping everything thats going on, its voicing your concern and wanting the best for your team. Not the fifth choice, spineless I'll pick Stewart Downing cause I like him as a person, not because hes an international class player, management of McClaren. He's obviously not the man for the job. £2.5million now, or lose £100million when he fails to get us to qualify for the Euros.

He is officially the worst manager England have ever had, the stats don't lie.

The pinnacle of being a football fan is to support your country and of course peole get upset. I get the impression the travelling fans are less upset about the results but more to do with the manner of England's performances. They perceive that the players don't really give a damn about their country and having spent a fortune to travel and support England they expoect, and deserve better. Sure McLaren is incapable of motivating the players, but in the good old days England players didn't need motivation to play for their country.

Stick Insect - one of your comments:
"Ask yourself what is the greatest personal pressure you have ever been under and I bet no-one reading these pages has been on live TV watched my millions and expected to perform. We can't even begin to imagine what it must be like and remember these players aren't middle-aged men with lots of experience behind them. The oldest player is in his late twenties. Ask yourselves how you could have coped with this sort of pressure in your 20's. Forget the money - it's not an issue when you're on the field."
You talk rubbish. If the players are not able to cope with the pressure then they should be manly enough to face up to the fact tell the manager and offer their place to someone who can.
Pressure is losing your job, and having to find the resources to pay the bills, feed your family, and the like, something these 'top footballers' do not have to worry about. The only thing they need to worry about on the night is the fact that they represent their country and having the ability to do something that a lot of people never get the chance to do. This is their job, if I underperform in my job I get the sack. So I say if you pay thousands of pounds to support your team and they do not perform then the team gets what it deserves.
I prefer to sit in front of the box and watch England, but I still scream and shout, bite my nails in the hope that the performance will get better. We played a team more than 150 places below us in the rankings, got a 3 - 0 win. (And that thanks to a 90th minute goal I may add). Every England fan whether they have travelled or not deserves better, especially against such lowly opposition. - Rant over

First of all Ia m Scottish, but i do feel that Booing your National team is a bit much, even your club as it does not do the team any favours at all. all it would do is bring their confidence down even more.

When Scotland was struggling i never booed or slagged the team off in any way!!

In addition you even won the game and the England fans still booed, i mean christ it was a win. Personally i think you all expect too much. winkeye
