Arsenal, Chelsea, Celtic Fined

International football Chelsea
comment on the article

I have finished reading about Chelsea and Arsenal fined 100,000 Pounds each for their brawl at the FA Cup. I also read about Celtic [one of my favourite teams] being fined for 420 Pounds by UEFA since supporters threw water bottles at San Siro Stadium on the 7th of March 2007 [during a Celtic Game against AC Milan].

While I am a Celtic Supporter, I do not support Anti Sports Behaviour. I think the fines were appropriate for Celtic, Arsenal, and Chelsea and should send a clear message that Anti Sports Behaviour will not be tolerated. We as Supporters should take the role of protagonist in denouncing the ills of our beloved football in order to save it.

Let's blame Chelsea,we can't beat them where it counts on the pitch but we can snipe at them on little message boards.
Pathetic.

Fining a Club like Chelsea £100000 is about the same as fining me 2p. This will do nothing to deter players who earn more in a week than most people do in a year.

It would have hurt the clubs more to deduct points (difficult as it was not a premiership game) or disqualify both teams from the competition and then re-play the final with the losing semi-finalists.

Until the FA get tough with teams then their disaplinery pannel will remain a laughing stock.

"as rich as Chelsea" because Arsenal can't afford 100k !!! get off Chelsea's back, ALL prem players are to blame for these pointless scenes, they should learn from the rugby boys about behaviour & respect

Everyone that saw the game knew where the problem was, and if Chelsea was fined £100,000 then it must be said that Arsenal got off very lightly ..... but what would you expect from the that lot at the FA.

If they were a business they would have gone bust years ago...... saying comes to mind when describing the FA " They couldn't run a piss-up in a brewery ".

No way should Chesea have been fined the same amount as Arsenal.
Ok it was a fowl by chelsea, probably a yellow card but arsenal did all the fighting.

what is the basis of punishing both clubs the same amount?is it not part of the game to fowl a player,if the culprit deserve a yellow card then issue it.in this melee, we all saw three arsenal players throwing punches at their opponents without any retaliation,so why should they fine both teams equally.its unfair to the blues.

re: evostink comment yesterday:
"I've said it before on here and I will undoubtably say it again - Arsenal have conceded least fouls in the Premiership and yet have been issued more cards than any other team - go figure"

You see great drama all around you every day, but it's only the greatest actors who receive the oscars....

No club wants to pay £200,000

Not even Chelsea. Especially when it is an avoidable payment.
