Doughty & Arthur out?

League One Nottingham Forest

comment on the article

I personally think that Doughty lost his interest in the club after the whole David Platt saga, and from recent spats such as calling the clubs fans 'pondlife' and saying he'd 'rather give money to charity than our slot machine of a club', i'd say his time has come.

The same DEFINATELY goes for Mark Arthur, he is an oily idiot, incharge of the club on a day to day basis, failing to make any positive strides, he's a Fulham fan ffs, perhaps thats why he isn't concerned with the playing side of NFFC, the 'chuckle brothers' as they've been dubbed are merely concerned with making Firest self efficient, and not about gaining promotion or taking us to where we should be!

I know for a fact that people would be interested in buying Forest, it's a name brand internationally still, not on a major scale granted but the potential is still there.

What are peoples general opinions on the subject as it seems a large amount of people see life after Doughty as being inconceivable when really he's doing far more harm than good IMO. Bring back the Forest we know and love, making stupid bids for players we know we aren't going to get doesn't please the majority of fans anymore, we need ambition, drive and a Forest fan at the heart of the club, not excuses, playing dour football and being looked over time and time again.

All opinions welcome! Thanks.

Oh that's an original one Mr london_redun(dancy).

I heard they're selling season tickets at the City Ground in blocks of four for £25 a season, seeing as there's so much room, they've decided that you can use four seats to lie down and waych the games in comfort smiley

Several Derby County players were pictured donning Wellington boots yesterday prior to their daily training session. Farmer Giles the club’s head coach is reported to have said that the field was particularly muddy today and he continued “you’d never be able to catch the sheep wearing normal footwear”.

I did add a humourous little piece about Sheep and Derby fans, poking fun at ourselves a wee while ago, however, the BBC Thought Police have yet again stopped an innocent and funny (well, I thought so) post from landing on the boards.

Have asked them to remove my membership, seeing as there's no room for humour or banter on here.

See y'all people (if they let this go on, of course).

cheeky_nffc.

Are you being serious when you say that it should be the ambition of the club to be profitable?. Whoever heard of a 3rd division club making a profit. Besides, the abitions of a football club should be success on the football pitch not on the balance sheet. Obviously , it's desirable to make a profit but in reality how many clubs outside of the Prem actually do?.It's a question of priorities and ambition.

no, i'm not saying that the clubs ambition should be to profitable, i'm saying its first goal should be profitability, then success can follow.

the club may have an ambition of winning the championship for example. to achieve that ambition there are a series of shorter term goals that will need to be attained.

its no good saying we aspire to return to the premiership but we are going to ignore all the short term goals that the process of getting back to the premiership consists of.

does that make more sense johnny?

No , I'm afraid not at all Cheeky. A football club will seldom become profitable unless that profit has been generated by success on the fooball field. It's simply a case of putting the horse before the cart. Please name me a single club outside of the premier league that is running at a profit. ( For that matter most of the clubs in the Prem operate at a loss these days )

johnny,

clubs like bolton, charlton, reading etc have got where they are through being run properly, not by 'living the dream'

i've racked my brains and i can't think of anyone whos had success (sustained or otherwise) by living beyond its means.

success comes from sound practice, not the other way round
