mancmog (U7464807) posted Mar 20, 2007 i cant believe some of the utter bull on this thread.Fact ronaldo is the most fouled player in premiership closely followed by drogba why?because they are both incredible talents who will do what it takes to give their team the edge,in these times football is a mega money industry and three points (or in some cases escaping with a point)is the difference between first place and nowhere.how many times do we have tohave this tired old debate ?is it right to go down when tackled?watch how many times the top players are fouled and nothing is given!england needs to wake up and realise the modern game is'nt about sportsmanship it's about WINNING!!check mourinho's tactics out in fact check any top managers tactics out they all do the same do what you have to do to win o.k. i know this is on the southgate thread but as mentioned earlier on this thread listen to the full quote and you will realise he is not condoning reckless behaviour but he can understand how his players felt and yes even though i'm man utd through and through rooney should of seen red but i think the ref realised what a soft first yellow he'd given to rooney (rooneys colourful language regarding some late tackles flying in that the ref did'nt award free kicks for)he maybe decided to err on the side of caution my rant is nearly at an end but i do feel sorry for the boro faithful having a manager who's tactics are from his tattered copy of roy of the rovers annual 1974 edition!!!

FleshGordon (U7856364) posted Mar 21, 2007 This is Boro sour grapes. Claiming Ronaldo a cheat, and yet they are advocating cheating through justifying cynical professional fouls and maiming. And Mr Southgate - green with envy over a player who has the confidence to take a decent penalty rather than your derisory effort in Euro 96. Further, your condemnation of Ronaldo's mickey-taking (some would say entertainment) I find incredulous given your pathetic pizza advert. Show-boating Ronaldo's skills or your failure - I know which I would rather watch.

captainrioutd (U7833454) posted Mar 25, 2007 Southgate is only upset, because he knows that he would have missed all 3 pens. I think that you have to understand to go out of the f.a.cup is hard. Brough know that they could beat watford, anf take part in the first webley cup final. so to go out like that is hard, but it happens all the time, then we all move onto the next game. Utd will play chelsea at webley, what a game that will be. A warm up for the chapions final maybe??
