£50 million quid well spent!

FA Cup Chelsea
comment on the article

So Spurs failed to beat us again... there's a surprise! A fabulous stike by Sheva (coming into form?) and another great strike by SWP put us through, despite a late dive, I mean penalty, by Berbatov (Keane took the penalty).
The first half was poor with both sides unwilling to risk anything. But in the second, Chelsea stepped it up a gear (and I mean only one!) and our superior class showed. Chelsea are through to meet (beat?) Blackburn.
Full credit to Spurs, no credit to the hooligans who run on the pitch (I witnessed at least two) and attacked Frank Lampard. I hope they get arrested and a life ban. Such scenes shouldn't be witnessed at a football match. Spurs stewards should take a good hard look at themselves too. I see a big F.A. fine winging its way to White Hart Lane.
Anyway, well done Chelsea, especially Sheva. We're on our way to Wembley! And it's a great feeling :-)

Erm.... Okay... you make a lot of sense.. Not.

So you think my comments about SWP and Carvallho are wrong? Do you watch a lot of football? Maybe only from your armchair..

My comments about shevchenko relate to the Chelsea fans that believe his contribution this season has been worthy of a £50m top class striker. Perhaps he will be amazing next season, but you can only base an opinion on what HAS happened not what MIGHT happen.

I guess you lot are forgetting the important part of this message board,

The title is 50m well spent. because sheva cost 30m and SWP cost 24m THATS 54M (The drogs of war) is rounding the 2 price tags to 50m also he is puting the 2 transfer fee's together as they sheva/swp both performed brilliantly, and are begining to show the potential.

That is why this title is called 50M QUID WELL SPENT.

The title is not about the price tag of sheva is both swp and sheva puttogether as a whole.

COME ON LADS DO SOME MATHS ONCE IN A WHILE.

Great performance against Spurs.

We showed patience and played to our strengths.
Sometimes its not that easy on the eye but its get's results.

Great goal from SWP but I am still far from convinced he is a Chelsea fit.

The chest down from Drogba to SWP was world class and apart from being a great goal scorer he shows time and time again how important he is as a target man for laying off chances to other players.

Sheva's goal was world class and I fimly believe it was intended.
He is finding his feet and will be a real threat next season...he works very hard off the ball and provides survice to Drogba.

A Man U v Chelsea final looks on the cards but we could end up playing Watford.

Yes I believe we will get past Blackburn.

It will take a major callapse from Man U and us to keep winning for a third championship...but we can only keep trying.

The one thing Chelsea have is resilience.

Shevchenko_Rocks, thanks for explaining to the muppets on here what the £50m (sic!) was spent on.
Thought it was obvious myself, but these armchair fans must have problems thinking for themselves doh

enough about sheva yes he's playing really well at the moment and showing some form. and is a huge threat next season. and in the next 8 games.

As i have been trying to explain to spur1984 and The-Readie i kept on talking about sheva and forgetting about. Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Alot of our players are hitting 30 at the moment lampard 29 this yr, ballack 30 this yr sheva nearly 31 next yr. Who do you lot think SWP is going to replace he is still only 24 and we all know he can perform in the prem, he has found it hard to adapt to the chelsea system but has kept it on the chin training well and has forced his way through his last 5 games he is also finding some form as you saw from the goal against tottenham yesturday night.

SWP could be a threat also next season if he keeps on playing like this and could be a excellent 1st choice replacement in the england squad.

The point The-Readie made might have confused the transfer fees but that's beside the point. The fact is £30mn is still a huge investment on Shevchenko and despite his recent form, most Chelsea fans will agree that he has nowhere near (yet) justified his price tag. Shevchenko_rocks, that's not to say he won't, but he hasn't yet.

The Drogs of War - I find that last part somewhat ironic in the sense that you are having a dig at what you call fickle 'armchair' fans. Whether that's directed at me or just The Readie I don't know but to name a thread '50mn quid well spent' simply because they both score in one game is probably about the most fickle comment I've ever read!

Sheva was bought for 30MM, he has not been worth that but he showed his class in scoring agesnt spurs and he got chelsea through to the next round.

I agree with you that sheva hasn't shown his true potential, the point i was making out is that his last what 5-9 chelsea appearences he has been brilliant and his goal against spurs showed what he can do and hopefully he can crack on from here because at the moment sheva is silencing his critics and has reminded people why we (chelsea) brought him for £30m.

I know sheva hasn't scored alot of goals like drogba has this season but you got to give the man credit by ignoring the media press not taking them seriously, training hard to improve his confidence and he has gotten his reward from that i think he sheva has scored 7 goals in his last 9-10 chelsea appearences.

If you think sheva isn't worth £30m thats your opinion but AC Milan brought Sheva from Dynimo Kiev for £26m.

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!

Spur1984, there was no 'dig' intended. It's just frustrating that some fans on here didn't understand why I chose to use the sum of £50m quid. I thought it was obvious, that's all.
When fans from other teams come on here, they often slate Chelsea without knowing much about our team. It'd be nice to have some informed opinion on here for once, y'know?

P.S. I'm not one for slagging people off and getting involved in personal points scoring. I hope my comments were not seen as personal ok

The Drogs of War

Yeah I understand what you mean although I obviously knew you were referring to both Sheva & SWP.

I do always try to give an informed opinion and was not trying to slag off Chelsea or Shevchenko.
