Only 3 of the canada team are born and from Canada.Surely this isnt right.Ok so Canada aint gonna win the world cup and its about taking part but if thats the case then why dont we just make a rest of the world team cause this is what canada is.I dont think it's right and if your not good enough to play for the west indies or Australia or whoever then you cant just play for canada or scotland.

Rubbish.
As far as I know, only Cummins has played international cricket elsewhere.
All of them meet the residential qualification rules and many have spent a substantial part of their lives in Canada. They aren't cricketing merceneries, they have "proper jobs".
How are they different to any of the following?:
Pietersen,Strauss,Greig,Lamb,Jones,Mullally, Mcague,White,Hollioake,Caddick,Hick...etc.
And if you are looking at birth places you can add..Cowdrey,Dexter,Gower,Hussain
And loads of others too numerous to mention.

Well...actually they ARE different because many of the above list are/were cricketing mercenaries.

Sir,
Might I point out that Mr David Gower was born in Tunbridge Wells but subsequently spent his formative years in Tanzania.

Plum,
Quite correct. That's the problem with scribbling stuff down from memory...you are inclined to make a few stoopid errors. Dunno why Gower/India stuck in my brain but I'm grateful that I still have a brain...do I? ummm errr , pass me the Janet and John books mummy.
I'm really quite impressed by the fact that you are still so sharp, many years after your demise.

These guys may have lived in Canada for years. Good on them for getting to play in a World Cup!! Most of us can only fantasise about that.

If I am correct, Sunil Dhaniram played youth cricket for Guyana before migrating to Canada....

I didn't realise so many members of the team had west Indian origins!
