magicsweden (U4418506) posted Mar 12, 2007 I feel sorry you feel that way. But Celtic fans loved him and that was what he wanted. And that Ferguson signed him at 35 must mean something even for you. But all the best with out Mr Larsson

The only bit I would take you task over is your statement about the 'myth' surrounding the perceived 'gulf in class' in talent between Scotland & England. I don't think Larsson proves your point, I just think he is one of the few exceptions to the rule. He could've left Celtic at any point with a number of clubs after him, but being a man of his word, and an honourable gent, chose to stay. The Premiership has had a far greater abundance of world class players over the years. Who have Scotland had in recent years: Henrik Larsson, Paul Gascgoine, Brian Laudrup, Craig Gordon... ;o). If you've watched a single SPL game this season, you must see how poor the league is?

magicFooty_Fan (U7846721) posted Mar 20, 2007 There is no doubt larsson has had an impact on the players at man u. In their recent game against Bolton there were definite signs that Rooney has learned from Larsson. In Man u's second goal where ronaldo and rooney broke away from their own box- Rooney's touch to Ronaldo and his movement was a carbon copy of what Larsson does so well. Rooney of old might have tried to skin the man and do it himself. The chipped finish was also Larssonesque. Larsson is a great player and would be missed from any side in the world

sirThedon (U7963781) posted Mar 31, 2007 It upsets me to hear some people disrespecting tho obvious talent of henrik larsson. While it is true that the scottish league is not a strong one there has been more to larssons career than celtic. Lets not forget that he currently holds the record for goals scored in europe for a single british club and none of those goals were scored against scottish opposition. lets not forget that he has scored goals for his country in 5 major international tournament finals including 3 world cups not including the goals he scored in qualification rounds and many of these were quality sides including italy and england. lets not forget the two goals he scored against porto in the uefa cup final and the way he changed the european cup final (all be it for ten minutes). he has now scored goals in three european leagues, in three european national cups and also for three different teams in the european champions cup.
