surprise surprise, The FA have announced that Eboue is to be banned for 3 games for violent conduct following the Carling Cup Final.

However, neither Arsene Wenger or Jose Mourinho have been charged for their involvement in the incident, although both clubs face a charge of Failing to control their players.

Once again, on this matter, Chelsea have acted with more maturity and dignity than Arsenal.

In my opinion, I think the FA is trying in some way to get some Managers scared in order to swallow any mediocrity of their referees.

This FA is always ready for sanctions against players managers even fans sometimes. What about them, who can sanction them when they do things wrong, are they untouchable, a kind of god?

BluesTopFan - no, just ban Bridges for 3 games for acting. Or give him an Oscar. Queen of Chelsea....

If the managers went onto the field to try to calm the situation, how can they be charged with misconduct? If they are not allowed onto the pitch, how can they help control the players? They lose out either way.

As for the players, I do have some sympathy with Adebayor, because I didn't see what he did, although his reaction was OTT. All the others are guilty as charged.

Final point, it did not detract from my enjoyment of the match. It was played just like the games of old between these two clubs...goals, good football, passion and handbags. biggrin

Eboue quite rightly banned. However, are we not making a big fuss over two minutes of stupidity.Far worse happened years ago when there were less cameras to view just about everything.Lets remember this was a very good game of football

I am not an avid football fan, however I decided that I would watch this match to see what the big fuss was.... thought I may then be able to answer a few questions when the BBC decided it would once again test the Nations intelligence..... I was absolutely disgusted by the behaviour of the players from both teams towards the last mins of the game. How can any of the players/managers excuse this violence... I would have liked to have seen the police step in and arrest a few of the players for violent disorder!!

i thoughts tyrants disguised as incumbents of offices only existed in n.korea, zimbabwe and other countries-sSURPRISE!SUPRISE! THEY DO EXIST AS FA OFFICIALS.YOU DAMN FA YOU SIMPLY CANNOT TAKE ANY CRITICISMS for crap referees.FIFA sends HOME during the WC '06 a completely useless ref POLL and our FA deems him fit to continue to officiate matches in the premiership.IT DAMN beggars belief. We always sing 'the premiership is the best league in the world'.what about the standard of match officiate.DOWN WITH the FA.

Its just like Wenger said "We commit the least fouls and get punished the most". Does this have anything to do with the fact that most of Arsenal's players are not Brittish? Its really sickening to see the way English referees conduct matches. Most of them do take sides and its very bad for the game. Ihope to see better refereeing in coming days.

To imply that the FA are racist is totally nonsense.
