Kiely backs under-fire Curbishley

Premiership West Ham United
comment on the article
Alan Curbishley

Dean Kiely believes West Ham manager Alan Curbishley can turn the club around if he is given enough time.

Kiely told BBC Sport: "I doubt Alan has ever had such disharmony at a club and his body language shows he is unhappy."

You can read Ian Hughes' article by clicking the link on the right and we'd like yor views on Kiely's comments and West Ham's plight.

I can't help but be amused. West Ham fans earlier in the season when they got the 2 Argies informed me they were going innto the Champ league and the Villa to which they try desperatley to aspire to (kit) would be relegated, pick my lottery numbers next time as West Ham fans do know there football, lol. Never been a Prem club, never will be. Enjoy playing Colchester winkeye

look I dont think it is Curb's fault. It is the fault of the likes of Anton and Reo-Coker.

These guys thought they could take their foot of the pedal after gettign a little bit of praise in the media.

Typical English players really. All bank account and no heart.

We give our young players too much too early.

I bet Reo-Coker and Anton get paid more than Toure, Eboue and other better players.

I also feel sorry for Pardew as he made those kids and they completely disrespected him with their performances.

Julian Dicks is right - Curbs should dump those guys and play the youth team. Just once to show these "pros" about passion.

Well said!
There was a staggering ammount of delussional Hammer fans spouting a fair ammount of jibberish at the beginning of the season after the fluke of last season.
They've always been at best a small yo-yo club.
Their current squad of players is far more suited to the fizzy pop league than the Premiership.

i agree that the team has let the fans down but what is new, die hard fans being represented by overpaid possers who have no respect never mind love for the club they are supposed to play for. put 11 fans out on the pitch and they will show more guts than the lot who are letting them down, i am not a WHU fan but like many other fans been there done it got the tee shirt

I think the status of West Ham and Charlton, has just shown how good Harry Redknapp was when he actually took Pompey out of the relegation fight last season.

Alan Pardew and Curbishley are goood managers, but both of them couldn't do the same miracle as Redknapp did last season.

Yeah it's all very fair to say the players have shown next to no commitment (feel sorry for Babayoun though) & could have turned the situation round if they'd really felt like it.

how can you have a pop at the hammers for being excieted at the begining of the season?

it happens - they got some players who a lot of people thought would make the difference between mid-table and a european spot.

it all went pete tong.

pardew's only mistake was agreeing to have the argies at West Ham.

also Reo-Coker and Anton should have been sold in Jan.

Didn't have time to respond yesterday REDLisboa.
I quite agree about players getting motivated by the fans but the rest of your reply still puts the 'cart before the horse' and ignores a very relevant point I made i.e. players don't run football clubs (or they shouldn't) managers do.
I don't think anyone would deny that many players have over inflated egos but it is the manager's job to handle those egos and still get them to perform, it comes with the territory), and if he can't then he simply is in the wrong job because it is an ongoing thing that (as one other poster said) all managers have to deal with
