Bentley security

Blackburn Rovers

I've just seen Bentley's extended his contract to 2011. This is great news considering all the talk of him being swooped by a 'bigger' club. It's good for him to show the fans his intentions before the media hype gets silly.

Let's just hope Pedersen's contract extension follows shortly :)

Get real about the new contract - signing Bentley to a long term deal is the only realistic way of obtaining a decent transfer value for him when they do sell.

Yeh obviously that's one thing but you very rarelt see it happen so soon after signing the contract. Why would Bentley put himself in the situation where (if he wants to leave) any club that wants to sign him might be turned off by a higher price. It doesn't make sense.

Although there's every chance he'll leave before 2011, the fact that he's signed usually ensures his service for another 2 seasons.

On present form, knowing Bentley has put pen to paper is music to my ears. He's been running those wings in scintillating fashion so far this season, which makes a change to expecting MGP to do it all. Let's hope he stays fit for the rest of the season and fires us up the table so we can have another go at Leverkusen next season (wishful thinking winkeye)

Nice one David! Me thinks he has his eyes on an England place. Bentley knows he will stand out at BRFC and it will mean 1st team football for the next 4 years. I think wright-philips showed that the bigger clubs can easily destroy your form and International ambition. Besides, who really wants to play with Neville at Man U?

Its great news that Bentley has sign a new contract, however, he won't get into the England set up as long as he's at Rovers.

Richardson at Utd has had a game, Downing, Barton. None of these players has come on as well as DB this term.

David won't get a game ahead of any player at Tottingham or Chelski. Just ask Batty, Sherwood, Ripley, Sutton, Wilcox and Le Saux about the England Ewood curse. Top of the league in their day and they didn't get a regular game. So neither will DB as the FA & the press hates us northern monkeys.

anyone know who matt jansen plays for now?

i'm so happy bentley signed long term, he and MGP both on long contracts is great news.

Just hope hughes doesnt offer Jeffers a long contract winkeye

I can see us pushing for that 6th place now IF we keep getting more fans than earlier in the season!!

next season I think, if we keep Nonda and maybe get another decent player in we seriously be looking at higher than 6th, i'd bet my house on it! (if we stay injury free that is of course)

rover_4eva. Definitely agree on the Jeffers statement. He's been a proven failure every he's played and done nothing in my eyes when he's been given chances with us.

As far as Jansen goes, I think he's currently "unemployed" since Bolton dumped him.

And about the attendances, I'd love to help every week but I live 30 minutes south of Milton Keynes so it just isn't possible. Therefore I pray all you guys up there show up and shout your throats out for 90 minutes.

I'm always delighted when I see our ground busy ok
