Were you there?

League Cup

Football fans queued for up to four hours for a train after the match

Rail problems caused many fans to miss the start of the Carling Cup final yesterday.

Were you among those stranded outside Cardiff watching the minutes tick by? What time had you started your journey and what was it like on the train?

What time did you eventually take your seats? And how long did it take to get back?

I've been to a play-off final at the Millennium Stadium and endured pretty poor conditions on my way back from the game, having to stand most of the way back to London.

It strikes me that not enough extra provision of trains is made on such occasions. Would you agree? Was this the case yesterday or was it just bad luck on the part of the rail companies?

I know a guy that drove from London to Newport for the game, parked up and took a train to Cardiff, the distance from Newport to Cardiff being around 30 miles, and it took him 2h40mins on the train .....

He did make the game, with 40 minutes to spare.

As both sets of fans are from LONDON going to CARDIFF this caused more problems on top of the rail problem at the weekend. If the other team was from central or northern England the problem would have been minor.

"Last point, why didnt you build the new national stadium of England in a place which was accessable for all the country not just the South East , seems unfair to me."
-----------------
Because this government in run from the south-east for the south east. The only reason they want the rest of the Uk is for energy production, storing nuclear weapons and they need young men with few opportunities that will join the army and fight their illegal wars for them

I feel sorry for all the arsenal fans who had to go throw that and it was not a good end to the cariff stadium. But look at the postives like your young players got abit of a exprience in the final and they made arsenal pround of them but i still think manutds acdemdy is much better. and i am not just saying that because is support manutd.
Plus i hope england sort their problems because if we do we have a big chance to win the euro.

Alright this is just because you are from London that you are complaining if this was a wmbley game between Everton and Liverpool the Transport would have been exactly the same, similary if it had have been between swansea and cardiff. The Millenium stadium was a vast improvement on the old wembley and it cost 10X less than the new wembley with plenty of night life for celebrations/commiserations after the game! Stop being so pompas its arragant fans like you that give the English in general a bad name
