What happens to Adebayor?

League Cup Arsenal

Help me out. It looks like it was Eboue that his Bridge but Adebayor got red carded. His anger at the red card and refusal to leave the pitch would make sense now on the back of this, especially if Wayne Bridge concurred that he in fact tried to tell the officials it was Eboue not Ade.

Obviously the FA will trawl through this incident with a fine tooth comb (one would hope) and it will be evident it was Eboue not Ade. But my question is what happens to Ade. If they recind his red card what happens with his refusal to leave the pitch. Nothing further will happen to Cesc and Frank as they were yellowed. But could we Arsenal face the situation of Toure, Adebayor and Eboue all being banned for three games????

Stupid Howard Webb lost contral, it was just AFC CFC handbags again. I've definately seen worse this season and the ref just yellows the players. I dont think Toure and Mikel actually warrented red cards, I thought they were bookings.

Why whenever something like this happened it is always the players, the manager, and the club receive the blame while the referees and officials receive the praise? The Referees' chief Keith Hackett praised the official for handling the incident calmly while criticizing both managers for walking into the pitch to calm the players??? Why makes the FA think their official is always right? Why couldn't a referee make a mistake, sending the wrong guy off the pitch? It is a game of passion and some players have crossed the line you punish them, that's fine. But as a Referees' chief, why in the name of god do you say it is wrong for the managers to calm their boys when things went out of control? Someone please help me out here.

In my unbised view the whole Arsenal team should be banned for life. Wenger should be given 25 years imprisonment.
The whole Chelsea squad should be Knighted one and all.
Jose should be declared King of England.
I don't think anyone can seriously argue with that.smiley

I adjure the FA to restudy the scene after Toure advanced threateningly upon prostrate Mikel.Lampard rushed in but his intent was more likely to quench rising tempers(Im not sure). It is actually Emmanuel Adebayor's bayonet charge that sent sparks flying. He flew in with a kick.

I think he deserves more.A fine and a short suspension would be just in order.Teach him to keep his passions (even while losing) in full reign.

the london evening standard said that essien and drogba were in trouble for things which were not picked up on by sky.

so that is adebayor, toure, mikel, eboue, essien and drogba.

is that every african on the pitch that day? crazy!

Cesc was simply wlaking up with the ball when Lampard steamed in but more importantly than that did anyone read The Independent and The Times account of what happened.

They did a blow by blow analysis using extra camera angles (all of which were viewed by the FA) and said that Drogba and Essien should also be punished as these extra angles clearly show each of them throwing a punch.

The times actually challenged the FA to ignore the exchanges and guess what...

...they did just that. While punishing Adebayor further and not punishing Lampard.

They are absolutely useless at giving thr correct punishments. Just look at what they did to Charlton earlier this season!

Ricardinho - remember what Wenger said right after the game "I am afraid, when the FA is involved it is best to be afraid" laugh

he also said the FA is not honest based on what he has seen this year. maybe to do with Pardew more than the league cup final but still...

If the Fa consider that referees and their 'assistants' make no mistakes then they are in need of urgent help. As for the business with Adebayor, he did nothing so how does the assistant explain his mistake? If he told the referee that he saw a punch, he did indeed lie. If he said he thought Adebayor considered throwing a punch then the FA must produce evidence and if they have none then why did the referee send someone off for being likely to do something rather than actually doing something? If the assistant saw another player doing something and there was mistaken identity then this raises the question of whether their should be a racial enquiry by the FA. After all such behaviour by police and in schools has led to the suggestion of there being institutional racism in the Police and education.
