What happens to Adebayor?League Cup Arsenal by Highbury_lass23 (U2068492) 25 February 2007 Help me out. It looks like it was Eboue that his Bridge but Adebayor got red carded. His anger at the red card and refusal to leave the pitch would make sense now on the back of this, especially if Wayne Bridge concurred that he in fact tried to tell the officials it was Eboue not Ade. veronokwok (U7624271) posted Feb 27, 2007 Why whenever something like this happened it is always the players, the manager, and the club receive the blame while the referees and officials receive the praise? The Referees' chief Keith Hackett praised the official for handling the incident calmly while criticizing both managers for walking into the pitch to calm the players??? Why makes the FA think their official is always right? Why couldn't a referee make a mistake, sending the wrong guy off the pitch? It is a game of passion and some players have crossed the line you punish them, that's fine. But as a Referees' chief, why in the name of god do you say it is wrong for the managers to calm their boys when things went out of control? Someone please help me out here.

slez1950 (U7619034) posted Mar 3, 2007 If the Fa consider that referees and their 'assistants' make no mistakes then they are in need of urgent help. As for the business with Adebayor, he did nothing so how does the assistant explain his mistake? If he told the referee that he saw a punch, he did indeed lie. If he said he thought Adebayor considered throwing a punch then the FA must produce evidence and if they have none then why did the referee send someone off for being likely to do something rather than actually doing something? If the assistant saw another player doing something and there was mistaken identity then this raises the question of whether their should be a racial enquiry by the FA. After all such behaviour by police and in schools has led to the suggestion of there being institutional racism in the Police and education. Comment on this article |
