Just wanted to say congrats to the Irish. Im a scot and you'll have seen we didnt have the best of days but Ireland certainly cheered me up (kina like my second team). They played great today, a strong team unit and O'Driscoll is one in a million, he looked half dead but still continued which i thought was immense and can't beat that boot of O'Gara, he doesnt get enough praise especially now you know who is back.

Croke Park has had a bit of negative press but it looks like an awesome venue and u can certainly hear the crowd even from the tv. Glad to see such a strong response after the France game. Hope u guys win the six nations since doesnt look like scotland will. Your team is certainly shows their passion for the game and good on them!

easy for ireland, England are pathetic, make the most out of your "world champions" tag cos in a few months Ireland will take it from you.

"In the past 4 years, Ireland has been for me not only the best Northern Hemisphere team, but also the most exciting one to watch playing."

have you seen some of France's matches in the last 2 years(and against far better opposition than England)???

if not then i advise you to watch the following matches: Ireland-France in 2005,the first summer test beetween France and SA in SA in 2005,France-Aus and France-SA in the AIs 2005 and SA-France in SA in 2006.
watch(or rewatch) this matches and then tell me frankly if you still think that Ireland have been the best and the most exciting NH team for the last 4 years.
Some people have a very short memory there: after the AIs 2005,i remember well that most of people in the NH were saying that France had by far the best NH backline....but now suddenly it's not the case anymore....very interesting.
a Elissalde-Michalak-Clerc-Jauzion-Baby(or Fritz)-Heymans-Poitrenaud backline is no joke,believe me.

another thing: France would NEVER lost by 22 pts to Australia the way Ireland did in their last summer tour.

Well. I reckon the games at the weekend showed up a few suprises.. especially the first three tries V Scotland well done Italy..

The Welsh nearly did the Irish a big favour but couldn't keep the heads up or the concetration...

And the Irish... Ah the Irish... Well we played pretty good, our forwards did a good job and gave the backs space to spread the ball wide... The English kept the score down and should have had another player sin binned... but hey they didn't and the game goes on...

A comment on the BBC... Well done on your coverage very comendable.. your preview.. probably was better than any history lesson any teacher could teach in class in the UK as to why there can be tensions from Irish People towards British people.

The history on Croke Park was very informitive and even I was suprised that the BBC told it as it was and how football supporters and players were killed and injured by the Black n Tans English troups back in a time gone by.

It is history...The question as to would any rugby or football be played in this great stadium Croke Park was debated long and hard in Ireland eventually it came to pass and we are better for it as a nation..

Finally.. Sport is a great thing no matter who wins or loses there is always something positive to take from a sporting game.. So lets enjoy it and not ruin it by slagging it off or the players...........

Firstly I would like to applaud the Irish people as a whole for the respect they showed the English Anthem. The fact that the last time there was Englishmen on the pitch at croke park they was shooting innocent civilians and players alike. The atmosphere was immense there with bucket loads of passion to boot. This was easily the best I have seen Ireland play in many years and if it wasnt for some jittery moments which cost the game against France we would now be looking at the grand slam champions of 2007.
But being a realist Ireland have not got the ability to beat NZ , hell nobody has . But I for one would love to see an NZ v IRELAND World cup Final, which is a real possibility !!

Thanks to all the Irish fans at Croke Park on Saturday. As an England supporter you showed us just how fans should be at sporting occasions. We had a great time except for that 80 minutes after 5.30 pm. With regards to that you were playing your World Cup Final and were magnificent. We were as bad as you were good. Slow pack, no ideas out wide and appeared unfit up front.BA should throw in the young pretenders before the RWC.
