bluebrumbee (U7567689) posted Feb 21, 2007 The Welsh media and supporters need to get behind their team otherwise they will destroy any chance they have in beating an in form French side.I can understand Stephens reaction as this must be a shock for him and Gareth to be subjected to some inept comments in the newspapers. Why blame the captain for the packs poor performance in Scotland?Stephen was playing behind a beaten pack and is expected to work miracles!!He has had to nuture two young players Chris and James who have been disappointing in the red shirt of Wales and is still expected to produce a good performance himself.Who did play well against the Scots?

handy-legend (U6618796) posted Feb 21, 2007 Oh dear Wales are in trouble. Of course they are- there forwards have been dire. As for Jones- he is the most overrated Fly Half in the Northern Hemisphere! Wales have not had a decent 10 for ages..... Jonathan Davies I reckon. Yes, I know Jenkins has the record for international points but the guy played 87 Tests! If Jonny plays that many and keeps his average points up(15 points per game) he would have 1305 test points! That is class! Get Hook in for crying out aloud! If not wooden spoon for Wales I'm afraid.

sirwlie (U7569564) posted Feb 21, 2007 Amazing! I am shocked Jones is so shocked...and to think the French don't ever critise their players? Not the French I know... can't remember them not booing. Jones gets paid to play rugby, it is his job. He knows what to do to silence the critics; play well and what is more actually lead his team on the pitch. The more he and Jenkins complain about the criticism the more they will get. Do they really expect the Welsh media to say "never mind lads, better luck next time"? Time to wake up, there is no place for naivity in this professional era.

ENS (U6647335) posted Feb 21, 2007 Stephen Jones is absolutely useless. He crabs across the pitch with the ball and misses 1 on 1 tackles. He can't stand up to the big occasion and looks like a clueless sheep. Hook has more pace, a longer kick, and makes more tackles. Stephen Jones desveres his criticsm and does not belong in this Welsh team.

stevemarkwilliams (U4779492) posted Feb 22, 2007 Hook is not ready to take over from Stephen Jones. He's lightweight in the tackle and hasn't yet adjusted to the pace of the international game. He's nearly been caught out a few times this season taking too long to clear the ball.
