Well they've charged Paul Jewell, but surely he has a case in this one, afterall this could be very expensive come the end of the season. Your thoughts?

Yes, its allways that way:
fans of small clubs such as Wigan and small manegers, such as Jewell hate big clubs and manegers:
Like chelsea, Arsenal etc. and manegers like Arsene Wenger, Sir Alex Ferguson etc.
About the penalty:
Arsenal had a moment when Clichy went down with help of Wigan players in the box. Penalty? No.
On offside:
Was Barca's 1'st goal in the Champions League final onside? Was Chelsea's first goal in the League cup final onside?
And even more, an Arsenal player got hit by Wigans players elbow, and got a broked nose, and he wasent even booked, so its Arsenal, who should complain really.

Thanks. I just write what i think, and when people say: 'all referees favour Arsenal, Chelsea, M.U and Liverpool, i replay:I donk know about Chelsea, M.U and Liverpool, but on Arsenal: arsenal broke the rules this season less times, then any other team, and most rule brakes this season where comited against Arsenal.

The FA should throw the book at Jewell and other Premiership refs who constantly harangue referees and blame them for their own mistakes. Did Phil Dowd buy Emile Heskey? Did he referee all the nine Premiership games that Wigan lost on the bounce?

It gives football a bad reputation when all Premiership managers seem to do is criticise refs. We should get back to a situation, as in Rugby, where their decision is final. Wenger should be given a lengthy ban, as he is a serial offender, Jewell must also be banned. Prem managers in general should have their heads knocked together. They are mostly a disgrace, especially as they encourage their players to cheat at every opportunity thus making the ref's job harder anyway.

We also need to stop managers giving interviews straight after games. Frankly, I'd rather watch Eastenders than listen to them anyway.

F A Cover up simply Jewell is right and someone needs to stand up against the idiots trying to run the game at the FA referees should have a chart top 10 for most wxplosive games also some foreign refs may actually help as teams are getting histories with some refs due to rotation who cannot start with a clean slate.

Well done Paul Jewell and the Wigan chairman for standing their ground on this issue. If what Jewell is saying is true, then he has every right to be incensed and infuriated by this charge. Referee's do good jobs week in week out regardless of the criticism they receive, as they ulimately make an exciting game what it is, based on their own opinions which can make and break games. However, there should be no place for referees who are arrogant, abusive and big headed. They should not be "untouchable" and if the allegations are proved then Mr Dowd should be severely and suitably punished. He is giving his fellow referees a bad name and should be ashamed of his actions.

Paul Jewell - dont give this one up, it sounds like a lot of people are backing you on this and it somehow seems incredibly wrong to lie down and take a fine from the FA. Hats off to you sir.

I didn't see the incident but if we had technology in the game, the whole mess could have been sorted in seconds.
As for the ref using abbusive language to the players, if this is so then he should be suspended just like Al Hadji Diof was for using abbusive language to a ref.
I can accept anything that is fair and reasonable if the same fate is doled out to everyone who commits the same offence.
Technology in the game is a must.
