Premiership Portsmouth

Not the greatest game I have ever seen but there were some good breaks.

Mendes went down bad and for once Troare looked like a balanced left back.

As a Newcastle fan I was upset(bloody gutted!) that Pompey won.

Looks like the ufea cup run could heat up...

Mate you would be suprised how many people I speak to on these boards that are convinced the rags are slap bang in the middle of Manchester and I have to explain it all to them with sites to confirm this. So appologiess for grouping you in with the brainless of the world.
I think I equally get wound up with people not appreciating there is only one team in Manchester (not yourself, just generally).
But appols again, it wasn't meant as a wind up

Linvoy,

We may only half fill our ground, but we still get more fans in than when you're sold out. smiley

Good lad, I will spend time speaking with open minded people who love their own clubs as much as they want. That is how things should be.

looks like I touched a nerve Linvoy, I'd get your facts right too before you start making guesses at people's ages, from your pathetic insults there is only one of us that is of school age.

"Fanatical support", I don't think so. You can't even fill a 15,000 stadium (if you can call that a stadium) and where were you all last year before Gayboysmack came in with some money? Do you think ugly would've come back without his money, or that you would've stayed up without the money? Redknapp is a Soton fan anyway, he'd shat all over you lot and now he's your saviour!!

Small town clubs and small town people make me laugh, you have one decent half-season and now you are a 'big club', you just can't tolerate that no matter who comes in or who invests no matter what money, you are still and always will be a small town club.

You will never compete with the support of Manchester City. How many tickets did you sell in the old third division, none, not sold out 32,000+ every week eh lads? now that is real support, something Soton fans know more than you lot of yokels.

Right, for a start, Fratton Park hold much more than 15000, closer to 21000, and in terms of percentanges, we average well into the 90% full every week. If the club dont advertise the tickets available on the day, fans cannot be blamed for assuming they're already sold.

Secondly, every large club has been through some form of major investment during its history. Why shouldn't we? After years in the lower league, and slow progression through the divisions, a final push to get into the premier league, and investment to secure survival is not uncommon. I'm sure you wouldn't turn down the same if it was offered considering your current position.

Next: How do you justify "Redknapp is a Soton fan anyway, he'd shat all over you lot" ? He took our club into the premier league after many long years in the old first division with little investment and kept us there. He then went to our clostest rivals, got them relegated and left them floundering in mid-table Championship football, returning once again to keep our Premier League status. In the meantime, publically admitting joining Southampton and leaving Pompey was the worst managerial decision of his career.

And telling us to compete with the support of manchester city? dont make me laugh

excuse me u lot have no idea, pompey r a proper footie club with fans who love thier club through thick and thin, united, arsenal, chelsea etc fans have no idea what footie is about their just glory hunters plain and simple, unless u were supporters when u were like 3 or 4, but i bet half ov u only supported em when they started winning things, so dont give s**t 2 a proper loved football club, and we have the best fans in the league by a mile

I'm bored of you lot now, I'll find some other braindead morons to put right as you lot can't even talk the slightest bit of sense. You live in a dream world Portsmouth, and you're welcome to your 'fanatical' club and ludicrous views on football.
