Wales chances in the 6 Nations

Six Nations Wales

I think this year could be the turning point in welsh rugby. I think that the six nations is going to be very open.Ireland have been the most consistent side most recently and they are going to be tough for any team to beat, epecially in Ireland. But the question is have they got the bottle to handle the tag of being labelled favourites? All the pressure will be off Wales because they are big underdogs in my view, but Wales have shown in the past that as underdogs they have the team to rip any side apart with their passion and pace and hopefully they'll have confidence in themselves to reach their potential. We just need all of Wales to get behind them and give then total support instead of any negativity that so often surrounds them.I think that it's going to be a very close game and Ireland deserve the upmost respect because at the moment they have the most consistent Magners league and international sides in Europe and if Wales don't enjoy any success next sunday then I hope that Ireland have the success that they deserve in this forthcoming 6 nations. So come on all welsh suppoters get behind the boys and roar them on to success.

our outside backs are going to get torn apart by the Irish - and I can't see anyone other than Hook having any chance of making inroads into their defence. Shame our best strike runners out - but haven't we got anyone better to replace them with than those selected??? Think we'll once more fall into the trap of endlessly kicking away possesion hard won by the lumpy looking pack. Sadly, a hiding on the cards, and a good way to send Ireland on their way to a grand slam perhaps. sadface

I think this will be a good start for wales as we could have not of asked for a better start as Ireland seem to be the inform team. This will be a good test to see how far the Welsh team has come in their preparation for the next world cup.I just hope the second row clicks as this is I think our achilles heel.Come on Wales this is our time ?

imo wales have come on leaps and bounds since they on the grand slam and the team was starting to look promising but now with thomas out till the firstof march henson looking like he is out for the match against ireland on sunday, i think wales will strugle and ireland will win comfortably.

they may have won the grnd slam two years ago. but now no chance.

So it was negativity all these years that held us back? Glad we cleared that one up.

Hi, I am an english born/Irish roots Ireland rugby fan.We have been made favourites (again as like 2005)but i witnessed loosing at home to the french after you won in paris that year. I am scared about sunday as Cardiff is a tough start. You won the title 2 years ago give us our chance this year (fellow celts and all that!)I go out after an Ireland game in the green shirt win or loose here in the west midlands.Last years triple crown was really special! I am a Worcester fan as well so being against Horesman will be strange! Come the power and the glory- come on Ireland!

what an unutterably depressing lineup in the backs for Wales. if robinson is the answer, then I'm going to try to find an ancestor who's Argentinian, for team with a bit of " up and at'em" for the world cup. Coach Jenkins'team was pretty mediocre in the Autumn. NB scarlets came to life AFTER he left, and helped by S.Jones Esq at number 10.
Morgan at 15 , been OK for dragons, Henson a perdu le plot completement! His trademark pass without looking, last friday for ospreys....he would have been dropped from the primary school team, passed it straight into touch, no-one outside him. Very depressed osprey supporter, not relishing sunday one bit. and I've got tickets to go to Nantes to see the boys play Fiji..any offers?

henson is useless and is really overrated can't believe people would rather c him in the game than kevin morgan, don't u remamber the winning try he scored against ireland in 2005.

The Welsh selection looks a bit flakey to me in the backs without Thomas, Henson, Jones, Williams, Shanklin and Parker, and I can see them coming unstuck against Ireland.
Very surprised that Jenkins has selected Robinson and Czekaj, instead of say the more experienced Dafydd James and Henson at full-back. The pack is also a bit odd - imbalanced - with both Popham and Jones in the back row, and a relatively lightweight 2nd row. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Ireland really racked up a good score.
