"Ronaldo not for sale." David Gill.

Premiership Manchester United

comment on the article

Ronaldo isn't going anywhere this summer. He has a contract until 2010 and the Glazers would never endorse it according to the club's CFO.(BBC report)

It makes me laugh when I hear this kind of thing. If Ronaldo is happy at OT and wants to carry on there, then fine. No point in selling one good player to sign another who may not be as good anyway.

But if the guy wants to go, and according to the Spanish press he does, then he will almost certainly be sold.

What's the point in having a discontented player underperforming and rapidly losing his value when you could sell him for a healthy sum and replace him or do something else with the cash?

Ronaldo deal done, just the ink and perhaps a last minute intervention by Jose. Anotrher Beckham job. Apparently Roman doesn't rate Rooney. <ok>

It makes me laugh when I hear this kind of thing.

Yes, although he's having a decent season and staying on his feet more often you really do have to wonder if Ronaldo hasn't got an eye on the bigger clubs in Europe.

He never seems to come out with anything too positve about us, and there was all that pratting around in the late summer when he seemed to be angling for a move to one of the big two, Barca or Mardid.

David Gill said today "He's NOT for sale" - well thats hardly a genius statement, I mean, is Rooney, Rio, Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs, Neville, VDS, Evra, Vidic, Scholes or Smithy "for sale", no clearly not, so Gills words are worthless to this article.

As far as I know Hargreaves isn't For Sale either, but I know for one, I'm kinda thinking that he'll come to the Theatre in the summer, even though his current club have done nowt but refute rumour and/or offers for him.

So

1. Will we get Hargreaves?

2. Will Ronaldo leave?

Why would one be answered YES and one NO if niether player is for sale?

As we all know contracts in todays game are not a guarantee that managers or players will stay.
If he realy wants to go it will happen.
Gallas was not happy at Chelsea and eventualy it was better to let him go than allow the sutuation to fester.
I don't know if Ronaldo is that unhappy.
I know one thing...it's not showing.
He's playing he's usual superb game week in week out.
In football today all fans can do is wait untill the end of summer and see who's still around from last season and take it from there.
Nothing's certain anymore in EPL.

I have to agree with Red Since Munich
Im not convinced that he is totally happy here
'He never seems to come out with anything too positve about us'
i have a feeling that he wants to play in spain but maybe he wants more success at united before he leaves.
Anyway i hope he does stay because he is a real talent even though some people dont appreciate it- get over it england went out because of they were useless at the wc not because of the wink. ;)

I disargee-"Why keep a player who is unhappy"
What has Ronaldo got to be unhappy about at the moment? Nothing.
Man Utd took a risk in buying him, young and raw. They helped make him the excellent player he has become. He owes them more than one great season!
Man Utd should tell him he is not being sold this season or season 2007/08. The situation would be reviewed at the end of that time, and if he wants to go, then possibly allow it.
If he starts being petulant etc and not performing, don't play him/put him in the reserves. It will not do him any good, and in fact will help put other clubs off buying him.
We should stop allowing players to control clubs, and over pampering to their egos.
Man utd should take a stand!
He can take a leak out of the Ryan Giggs/Paul Scholes books on professionalism, honour and loyalty.
