punk_owl89 (U6529714) posted Jan 27, 2007 I'm quite happy Drew Talbot's gone.. he's rarely fit and he doesn't tend to play well unless he's partnering a target man. he's more of a last ten minutes striker that runs at a tired defence. i can't believe we got 250k for him as well lol... there's better players about for that cash

wansteadhatter (U7123068) posted Jan 28, 2007 Please please hatters fans - don't keep saying relegation would do us good - it never does anyone any good unless it is from Premiership to championship (with parachute payment - it gives those clubs an enormous advantage the following year). The gap between the divisions is getting wider every year and don't assume that if we get promoted in the future that it will be better next time! Yesterday was the worst performance I've seen from the Town for many many years. God I'm depressed.

nicebutdim1 (U5501507) posted Jan 28, 2007 Bah humbug. Yesterdays performance was terrible. I wouldn't have minded the 4-0 scoreline if Luton had actually put some passion into the game, but instead they played as if they really couldn't be bothered, and with the smallest attendance of the year, it really was a woeful atmospehere. Lutons board either needs to put up (where the hell has the £9 million gone?) or just resign themselves to being a League One club next season. I wouldn;t be surprised if Mike Newell leaves in the summer-he's a good enough manager to go to another club in the Championship, even if he is outspoken.

hollandaise (U4693383) posted Jan 28, 2007 Well I suppose we should"nt have expected any thing else. The difference between Premier and Championship is oh so evident. and with our depleted team it is massive. only one shot on target from luton and that was straight at Friedel. our defence was quite pathetic at times Coyne looks past his sell by date. Perrett slow and cumbersome. The midfield were reasonable But not a striker to be seen. New boy Talbot looked lively One for the future perhaps? And oh dear what about the state of that £40,000 pitch. It really does look a very tired football stadium

bigsteg (U6135279) posted Jan 28, 2007 oooft it really was oor performance yesterday, a world away from last seasons Liverpool game. Thats the diffrence when you lose Vine, Howard, Edwards etc I dont want league 1 next season it certainly would not be better. LAst season looking like a solid championship side pushing for playoff place, this season relegation stugglers. Makes me sad Comment on this article |
