This is what happens when you sell all your best players and the Directors of Luton pocket the £8.6M.

Blackburns performance = as you would expect from a Premiership side = Very professional.

Lutons performance = Pathetic, woeful, painful, lacking, sad, disappointing and League One.

Its amazing how 12 months can make such a difference to a side.

And the Directors of Luton will be begging us to buy season tickets at the end of this season for next season. Will there be a 25% discount for being in league one?

This is one very sad year to be a Hatters fan.

On a final point..... this new guy Talbot... I can't see any hint of his £200k ability.

Honestly, comparing today's performance to that against Liverpool last season, you'd think it was a different team!

Oh wait - it is! Nice one, board! okdoh

It really was dire today, and only emphasised how badly Newell needs to get players in (that and the fact that we now have just 15 fit players) - will the board support him though?

Disappointed to see people saying they'll not be renewing season tickets though - come on, get behind your club through thick and thin!

I'm quite happy Drew Talbot's gone.. he's rarely fit and he doesn't tend to play well unless he's partnering a target man. he's more of a last ten minutes striker that runs at a tired defence. i can't believe we got 250k for him as well lol... there's better players about for that cash

as much as im happy that talbot is gone, i would like to thank him for scoring the goal that bounced us back into the championship a few years ago smiley

Please please hatters fans - don't keep saying relegation would do us good - it never does anyone any good unless it is from Premiership to championship (with parachute payment - it gives those clubs an enormous advantage the following year). The gap between the divisions is getting wider every year and don't assume that if we get promoted in the future that it will be better next time! Yesterday was the worst performance I've seen from the Town for many many years. God I'm depressed.

Coyne looks to be really out of sorts these days,he has no pace and like Langley just resorts to fouling the opponents.
Marlon never moves when the ball hits the far post,we did better when Kiely was in goal,he looks classy.
The new lad looked sharpe and was running around with lots of enthusiasm,Boyd is no goal scorer he has fancy touches but little else,he certainly was not worth £500,000.
All in all not much to shout about,my wife and I won't be renewing our costly season tickets,we will pick and choose the games we attend as we have to travel for 1 hour each way.
Respect has to be earned and that ain't happening at the moment.

Bah humbug. Yesterdays performance was terrible. I wouldn't have minded the 4-0 scoreline if Luton had actually put some passion into the game, but instead they played as if they really couldn't be bothered, and with the smallest attendance of the year, it really was a woeful atmospehere. Lutons board either needs to put up (where the hell has the £9 million gone?) or just resign themselves to being a League One club next season. I wouldn;t be surprised if Mike Newell leaves in the summer-he's a good enough manager to go to another club in the Championship, even if he is outspoken.

Though I don't balme the board entirely; Mike Newell has to take a little bit of the blame, it's his job to motivate the players, whatever the situation. The players must also take some of the blame-their proffesionals, so should act like it. Where has the form of Beresford gone, he was outstanding a couple of seasons back. I just hope this circus ends soon so Luton can get back to playing football.

Well I suppose we should"nt have expected any thing else. The difference between Premier and Championship is oh so evident. and with our depleted team it is massive. only one shot on target from luton and that was straight at Friedel. our defence was quite pathetic at times Coyne looks past his sell by date. Perrett slow and cumbersome. The midfield were reasonable But not a striker to be seen. New boy Talbot looked lively One for the future perhaps? And oh dear what about the state of that £40,000 pitch. It really does look a very tired football stadium

oooft it really was oor performance yesterday, a world away from last seasons Liverpool game. Thats the diffrence when you lose Vine, Howard, Edwards etc I dont want league 1 next season it certainly would not be better. LAst season looking like a solid championship side pushing for playoff place, this season relegation stugglers. Makes me sad
