Ehiogu .........good piece of business

I think in time this will prove to be a shrewd bit of business by Walter . Even Stevie Wonder could see that Rangers defenders just did not strike fear in to opposition centre forwards with the result that journeymen players like Jim Hamilton , John Sutton , Steve Lovell , etc etc must've wished to could play our bunch of fairies every week . It was painful to watch Karl Svennson being bullied from first minute to last .
And thats why I think the big Swede will now warm the bench for the foreseeable future . Actually PLG should have been shot for persisting with hinm when it was obvious his confidence and composure was shot . I think it will good for the young lad to sit it out for a few weeks and just get his confidence . I'm still not convinced he's what Rangers need but maybe I will be proven wrong . Watching his fresh air swing at the ball against Dunfermline and his basic clearing of his lines as he hoofed every ball out of play was almost embarassing .
As it is he will make up a foursome for the 2 central defensive places : Weir , Webster , Ehiogu , Svennson . In my team selection he would be last to be picked out of that 4 .
And good to see Hemdani now playing in the position that he ought to have been in from the start . How many months has it taken ?? Which makes me wonder if we only maybe need one more midfield player now that Clement is going / gone . I don't think he will be any great loss . Good player but nothing more than that . Brown and Gow in before the transfer window shuts and I think we'd have a reasonable squad and then get the real shopping done in the summer !

Boro didn't pay £8m for him for nothing. Decent defender.

If he stays fit, Ugo will be a great signing. Big if though.

Hope Walter will go for Hartley now as he seems the only decent mid field player that is possibly available. Jury is out on the Ehiogu signing but he might just do a job for us in Europe...if he stays injury free. erm

he might have been worth 8 million in the past but remember now thats what matters, the leeds fans I have heard have says he gave them nothing and left with nothing, they sais he was very poor and couldnt even get a game their when they are sitting bottom of the championship, theres no denying that was a great asset back in the day but his last club he left leeds where he was on loan, he left after 2 months and the fans h8d him, time will tell

Just because an EPL side over priced Ehiogu dosent make him a good player, Boumsong cost Newcastle £8m and that wasnt exactly a good deal was it!

anyway it was 6 years ago and i thought Ehiogu was a good big player back then but he couldnt get a game for Leeds who look as if they are heading into the Third tier of the English league so if he isnt good enough for them then he shouldnt be considered anywear near good enough for Rangers!

I think Weir will prove to be a good piece of buisness thougok

As a Middlesbrough supporter I and probably every other Middlesbrough fan would have to argue that Ehiogu has been past his best for a few years now.

He was a great asset to Middlesbrough at his peak i.e. when we bought him and up until he lost his place last season to Riggott and Southgate, now Boro have Huth, Pogatetz, Woodgate, and Riggott and Ehiogu was behind them and Xavier and probably Davies for a centre back position.

I think that proves that he's not going to do much for you if Rangers have much ambition, if he's that far down the pecking order at a mid table Premier League team.

I hope he does do well because I like the guy and what he did for us particularly winning the Carling Cup, but unfortunately for Rangers and Ugo himself I can’t see it.

I don't see how sitting on the bench could ever improve anyone's confidence
