Who thinks Ding has the potential to be the youngest worls champion or is he a flash in the pan who is good for asian market like James Wattana.

I'm tipping McGuire to have a good run at the Cruicble.

Moondan! you just can`t hate Ronnie the way you do! It`s just rubbish the way you comment on Ronnie. You need to stop it enough is enough! You are about............. my last nerve! Get lost Moondan you don`t know anything about snooker. I respect Ding as well as all other PLAYERS. I know ding is gonna be legend I am happy for him. It`s not gonna be intresting if only Ronnie wins every tournaments, but you just have to give your credit to a genuine legend! Ronnie has played many great players like Hendry, Davies, Higgins and HUNTER! So, a win against Ding in this year`s masters Final shows us that he is still in that same form that he has been in for long. I can tell you THIS YEAR AND MANY YEARS TO COME DING IS GONNA UNBEATABLE! HE IS A GREAT PLAYER. ,but Ronnie.........go learn the game Moondan. If you wanna enjoy the game you just have to respect the players because they deserve it. what moondan is doing shows that he is not that kind of person that has no respect to sportmanship.

I think Matthew Stevens must have a great chance this year. He has a tough 2nd round match potentially against Ken Doherty but I can see him going on to reach the final if he gets through that(assuming they both come through their opening matches).
I think Hendry should maybe make this his last season. He needs to realise the glory days are long gone.
The rankings are false. I think Hendry is outside the top 6 favourites now. People don't win the worlds at 38 these days, 35 is about the limit I think.

I think Ronnie is by far a much better player than he was in the late 90s, his snooker has matured and he actually plays much more strategically than he used to. He's always been a great player - but the number of titles he's won in recent years explains it's all.

If you follow snooker as closely as I do, he's actually took snooker into a new level in 2001 - when he was clearly the best player in the world.

All professional snooker players can get in the so called zone and build devastating breaks when they get a good run of the ball but consistency is the key to winning titles.

Look at Grahame Dott, not exactly the most talented or best cueist on the circuit, yet he is World Champion. How did he do it? He was the most consistent in the Championship.

Now, going back to Ding. I can't say whether he will be the youngest World Champion but he certainly will be World Champion one day if he carries on playing the way he has.

To me, it's the top 4 players that really cut the difference when they have a good run of the ball. You don't call someone World number 1, 2, 3 or 4 for nothing. These players are superb in all departments, and at their best - are just dazzling to watch.

Ding will or will not dominate the snooker is not an important issue. What is more important to me is how to promote such a sports into every corner of the world. There are many young people love the snooker simply because of Ding. What we need is not only one Ding from China, but many Dings from other parts of the world and finally witness the acceptance of Olymipcs Games.
Btw, does anyone know good places to play snooker in central london? I couldn't wait to play by myself. As long as it is cheap (As I am still a college student) and safe, please tell me. Better exact address. Many Thx.

I am suprised that people are calling for Hendry to retire, how bad can he be if he has reached a final and a semi final his last two tournaments? Even now an on form hendry, though not the player he was, will only be troubled by Ronnie and maybe John Higgins. Steve Davis is nearly 50 and still a top 16 player and still reaches the odd final, so why should Hendry retire at 38?

Ronnie dominate? His best days are gone. He has one good match and you forget all the others. It was his first tournament win in nearly 2 years.
Hendry is past his best but he has got t-shirt. O'Sullivan will never wear it.

To all you moondan and frameandfortune haters---learning is a slow curve but we are here for the long haul, we have the evidence.
The greatest match I ever saw was the final of the Victoria challenge, about 96/97 these two the greatest players I have ever seen were at there absolute best, each player had produced 3 centurys each,
most in the high 130s many breaks over eighty and they arrived at 8 each. From a good safety from Ronnie, Stephen potted a difficult red and went on to take the match with a 147. What was so great was their long potting, they made their own chances, nothing was gifted and snooker has never reached that standard since. The match was televised live in the afternoon but only highlights of the evening session were shown at 11-15. It was the only time I.T.V got involved in snooker I think. Had it been bbc we would have seen that many times since.
Ronnie has been much the same player since he was sixteen and the whole snooker world knew he was coming, such was his talent and reputation.
In the last 5 or 6 years Ronnie has improved his strike rate against Stephen but with age comes decline, after eleven or at the most twelve seasons you will only perform at your best rarely, that has happened in every case I know. I think at the moment Ronnies safety is the best in the world and has been for some years, his long potting is under pressure and he now turns down chances that he would have gone for five years ago.
I dont hate Ronnie, love watching the guy he is incredible, He is the second best player I have ever seen!
I have never run down Ronnie the snooker player. I think Hendrys done enough to be considered the best, and no doubt I will have to point that out to you over the coming weeks.
Mindful of what saviour has said in his article, I hope this can be done with humour, sarcasm and teabag thrown in.

Frameandfortune, sorry to hear your educational board was sabotaged!
I was really impressed with Stephens.those five frames he won were so solid and in full flow he must be up there with the fastest players.
When he is in the zone I think he would be unbeatable. If he plays like that from now until the end of the season he will take some beating at sheffield.
I agree about Hendrys ranking.
