With three class new signings (one on loan) and the MONster on look out for more talent, I can't help but think happy thoughts about our rosy future! We have the owner we want in Randy (so far), We have the manager we want in MON (without a doubt), and we have youthful players brought up through the ranks of villa who are actually class (thanks to; (and i never thought i'd say this) Doug Ellis, goes to show there are upsides to having a tight owner!!!) so my thoughts now are, where are we going to go wrong? We never get what we want or what we need so now we have it what is there to moan about? I'm a little bemused! maybe i am speaking too early as there is plenty of time for us to mess something up!! But i think the best plan of action now is to show our support in numbers at VP and show the management and players why they should put the effort in that they have! UP THE VILLA!!!

Hooray! Baros is gone!

I've seen John Carew play a couple of times and his style reminded me of, dare I say it, Stan the Man. Obviously, I mean when he was playing well.
Don't shoot the messanger!

It's a strange one with Carew, he's always been talented but he has never really fulfilled his potential. He's not what you would call a traditional striker and even though he's tall he's not great at heading. I doubt he can be a twenty goal a season man because he has never really been that player. Just look at his stats for Valencia- 20 goals in four years!(84 games)But still looks a great signing for Villa.

I dont think it matters greatly how many he scores, if he gels well into the team and stays injury free we may not need a 20+ striker as we could have three or four 10+ scorers which IMO would be better strength in depth not reliant on one like chelsea! if drogba gets injured it's all over for chelsea! with the possibilities of young a possible 10+ scorer, agbonlahor another possibility, barry another likely candidate and carew i think we could be looking peachy for the future! what do you think?

AstoundingWeirdo
We are not going to get anywhere near Milner, he has been Newcastle's best player this season and they are tying him down on a new contract.
It's ironic that we helped in his development but the same could happen to Bardsley, it's the loan system.

I think carew will be brilliant. he is 27 in his prime and its time for him to reach his full potential and i think he will do here for the villa! up the villa!

further back in this post BT and Baros are mentioned.

i think that both players are talented and the clubs they went to do not suit their style of play. Villa nor Everton can afford to change the way the play just for one player.

Villa should be better with out Baros as will Everton when we can off load BT. yes he had a spell last season when he scored but i think he has the Marcus Bent syndrome and the sooner we get shot the better.

What Carew can do with a football, Zlatan can do with an orange.

Yes indeed Carew will do for Villa what Sutton did for Martin when he brought him to Celtic
