"Why are all Dutch clubs not kicked out?" Would be nice to see ajax kicked out as well! Comparison of the Heysel Tragedy and the things happened in Nancy is ridiculous! 39 (?) people killed vs a broken window and some seats ripped off. The match was suspended because the French police used teargas after there were some small problems with Feyenoord fans, not because of the crowd trouble. The French police and Nancy did almost everything wrong. They sold tickets to known troublemakers and let them into the stadium. Feyenoord did everything to prevent the trouble, so why did the UEFA punish the club?

We are only a small club from a small country with a bad reputation. So nobody is bothered too much when we are thrown out of the UEFA cup. You only have to read other reactions. Why are other clubs not thrown out? Remember Galatasaray – Leeds, Inter Milan – AC Milan… Kicking us out was the easiest thing to do. After the draw, everybody knows Feyenoord – Spurs has a history of violence, UEFA made a new appeal. In the meanwhile nothing changed the facts happened in Nancy. Why a harsher punishment? Later we played against Krakow and there were 2.000 Polish fans in Rotterdam and nothing happened. UEFA doesn’t care about football and the fans who already bought tickets and booked their hotels and flights.

Yes somebody said something about Heysel but all the English teams got kicked out for 10 years JA JULLIE NEDERLANDERS TIEN JAAR so don't start moaning about getting out for one year and one jaar on probation. The scoucers could have got kicked out for 10 years and a lot of us English wouldn't have bothered

AlcesterGooner :- WHY? what have Spurs done wrong? Or have you got the boot boy attitude that because you you support Arsenal you therefore have to hate Spurs, haven't you got a mind of your own? With your attitude are you an Arsenal fan or a Feyenoord one?

Feijenoordfan :- I actually agree with your point of view, Eastern European clubs are much worse than Dutch clubs but banning those could possibly seem to be if not racist against Eastern Europe then discriminatory wheras against Dutch team/s then nobody outside of the Netherlands is going to raise much more than an eyebrow. For years people have been on to UEFA to stamp out trouble and they have done nothing, now at last they do something the reaction is at best decribed as knee-jerk, if they had done the right thing from the start then this situation need never have happened. Saying that if Feyenoord have crowd problems then with 21st century technology they should have dealt with it quicker and harder than they have done. It's a case of 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other, but it does seem unfair that Feyenoord seem to have been singled out for the punishment.

Agree with Feijenoord getting kicked out. We don't need these kind of problems messing up our national sport. But its a bit daft to want to kick all the Dutch clubs out. I am only aware of ONE case like this of Dutch fans causing a riot abroad. The Heysel riot was of another scale with alot of people killed, and so that needed alot more drastic action.

It's tough on the real Feyenoorders, I say that as an Ajax fan, and I'll even admit that Feyenoord has the best and most loyal support in the Netherlands. But they have a got a thuggish element which unfortunately is a bit of a reflection on Rotterdam (not the safeist city to be out in. I know, I used to work there!).
Anyway, well done UEFA for doing what needed to be done, and...one man's dead, is another his bread (Dutch expression), in this case the Spurs!!

As an Englishman living in Amsterdam (hence Ajax-fan), I still think this is pretty harsh on the clubh itself. Exactly how much can a club do to prevent pikey scum attending its (cup AND league) games? If you have them play many games without supporters, the crowds will alter their behaviour AND the club will try harder to keep out society's rubbish to prevent losing such amounts in ticket sales again. All that this is going to do is make the fans more angry and high the risk of more incidents.

The people responsible for the Nancy riots will be laughing their heads off that Feyenoord got kicked out. These characters just love to see this story in the newspapers and brag about their antics while they snort cocaine and swallow their E.

It is harsh for the club, but hopefully many teams in the EUFA cup will learn form this.

Comments that All Dutch teams should be banned form any European competition "because that's what they did to English clubs after the supposed Liverpool actions" is just way out of line. The trouble English supporters have caused in the past have been much worse than what happened in Nancy. UEFA only acts on what happens inside a stadium, but not on what happens outside. And that is a bloody shame.

I am glad we don't hear too much anymore about binge-drinking English fans be it club or national team supporters, but I do remember that at the World Cup in Germany it was once again the England supporters who were first involved in street fighting. Should England be banned from next world cups?

I think it's a tad harsh, but I don't honestly know the full details to make a judgement.

Certainly, everyone is in agreement that UEFA don't do enough across the board on hooliganism and racist chanting.

As for what happens to Spurs, I think they will have to play Wisla, which is only fair on Wisla as they finished behind Feyenoord. Spurs shouldn't be too worried about them, Blackburn had not too much trouble (if I remember, Rovers made more of a match of it then it really needed to be!).

Feyenoord is currently investigating all the people responsible for the actions in Nancy, so that they can claim all damages on them. It will not get the club from Rotterdam back in the UEFA cup, but it would be great if they can get at least some of the money lost back.

Might be an idea for Spurs to join the legal actions, as they are losing money as well.
