Hammers have signed Davenport from us, on Spurs Website. I think that is a good signing, he will be quality in the Championship

I do get cheesed off with people who just hurl pointless abuse so apaologies for the previous posting by an Arsenal fan.

Turning back to a serious discussion I am quite surprised Spurs have let Davenport go as he has looked quite useful and it must leave you short at Centre Back. Not sure Upson is going to move, but I gather Jol is chasing Rocha from Benfica who would be a good buy. You are coming to what could be make or break time for your season with the various cup matches so it will be interesting to see what happens.

ReturntoSenderos is absolutely right, if we fail to get another centre half in we could be stuffed. Yes £3m is good business but it would of been far more intelligent to get the back up in 1st - it does seem quite a risk to me. What team is likely to allow a 1st choice centre half to leave mid-season?? And Gardner really is not even a short term replacement, good on set pieces but is about as good as Heather McCartney on the ground.

"Hes gone from one crap team...actually a pathetic team, to another crap team. He should of gone to the classy side of north london, but then again he'd never get into our reserves let alone our kids team."

Yea you're right - he'd push arsenal past the 5% english mark and you can't have that. Gotta maintain the 50% french, 20% african, 10% dutch, 10% spanish, 5% german and 5% english right? Haha foolish gooner.

And from what i've heard we're signing upwards of 3 defenders in Jan and that's why the sale of davport was needed - to give us the cash to make so many bids.

is ridiculing arsenal regarding the amount of foreigners they have really all uve got, i'm guessing u would be quite happy to c spurs win the league without any english players, after all, wasn't it that very english ricky villa that won u the FA Cup? pot, kettle my friend, stop being bitter,

i agree with returntosenderos in that we seem to have taken an unnecessary gamble and have left ourselves a bit short at centre back and hope that the money from his sale will go towards some good replacements. enjoying the banter on here 2day lol.

To all the gooners coming on here for the sake of provocation get lost and go find a friend, we're not here for your neverending meaningless and 99% of the time rubbish and repetitive banter.

Back to Davenport, people are right in saying this has left us with no decent cover, especially with the fact that Dervitte is injured, and this definitely worries me. The last time we sold a player without getting adequate cover beforehand was when we sold Fredi to Sevilla and we all know which donkey we panic-bought after we ran out of options at the end of that transfer window. Basically, I don't want a situation like that to arise again. Big Mart and Comolli aren't stupid, I just hope they've got someone lined up already. I suppose I'm also just sad to see Davenport go. After some slightly shaky appearances last season, he came out this season having definitely matured and put in some solid performances. He didn't really look like breaking up Ledley-Awesome, but he was good squad player. £3m also seems decent business to me.

Not at all. I am proud of Spurs and how, unlike Arsenal, they have not sold out. Tottenham still resemble an English team with an English feel. I'm proud of my country and our roots in the game and I want my club to respect that. Personally i'd be disgusted right now were I an arsenal fan with only 2 english players in my whole squad and none in the first XI.

There is no character or passion behind Arsenal and the way the play. Just money. And the French. Your team is an embarassment to English football.

Gotta say I agree with THFC. Without Henry waste of time watching them. As for that tw£% manager, he was lucky Pards didn't give him a slap, would of taken his Charlie Chester head clean off.
