Becks signs 5 year deal at LA Galaxy.

He's too showbiz for the Premiership.

>If i were offerer either £250 million or the chance to play for Manchester United, I might just go for the money !!!

The offer is £128 million over 5 years not £250 million and he wasn't offered the chance to go to Manchester United! Why is everybody coming up with all these nonsense hypothetical situations? Your post is completely meaningless.

A hundred and twenty eight million pounds over five years.

Call it £25m a year

Half a million quid a week

about £75K per day

or an hourly rate of about £10K.

No matter how you look at it, it's not bad money, is it!

All the criticism of Becks about this and everything else in his career & personal life is down to one thing jealousy. Build a bridge & get over it.

Good luck to him. I hope he does what he sets out to do, enjoys doing it & makes a mint too! I mean the audacity of the man - earning money for his family & pursuing his own goals in life instead of being miserable & carping like the rest of us - dream on.

From the New York Times-

"The Los Angeles Galaxy announced the move yesterday, saying that Beckham would make $250 million over the five years of his deal, including endorsement income; the team did not release his actual salary from the club."

This is not for the benefit of 606 readers (who have already worked out LA Galaxy cannot afford $1m per week wages) but tabloid journalists, out of their depth, reporting anything beyond WAG shopping trips.

Just to recap-$250m is NOT his salary.

FAQ
Do I need to be Carol Vorderman to work this out for my newspaper report?

-No just cut and paste the LA Galaxy press release, as the NY Times has done, instead of failing to reading it properly.

Hope this clears it up

I agree with the article saying those that make negative comments are just jealous of becks. He is still a great footballer, fantastic free kick taker, great and amazingly acurate passer of the long and short ball, and should still be playing for his country,we would then not have to keep questioning how we are to break down countries who play by putting 9 defenders behind the ball.He always brought great dignity to our team as captain, and should still be their helping to fight our cause, with crouch on such good form, what a great combination we could have

too those that say he achieved nothing with england -ridiculous, we had our best results since we won in 66 with the team becks was in, he was one man out of 11, stop letting your own lealousies blame one man for 12 mens failings (i say 12 as i include the manager in this)
