thesixthzuton (U1483553) posted Jan 11, 2007 I've been reliably informed that a substantial bid was made for Nugent, which the PNE board were happy to take, however Paul Simpson said "he's not for sale." The understanding I get is that Nugent is a Preston player until the summer, when he is likely to move on should Preston fail to win promotion.

Noballgamesallowed (U4075013) posted Jan 12, 2007 I remember Andy Gray coming to us with a poor scoring record and not even being played as a striker. Also, Marcus Bent came to us having scored 3 in 30 for Port Vale. Deano wasn't a regular scorer for Doncaster and Agana never got a game for Watford - need I go on? Give the lad a chance.

Noballgamesallowed (U4075013) posted Jan 12, 2007 Indeed but thats natural attrition and true of all clubs and players. Good strikers are a rare commodity (hen's teeth) and about 1:100,000 actually make it.

BecksonSAFC (U7092904) posted Jan 12, 2007 Lewis Nyatanga? Good kid, lots of potential but not all that at the moment. Struggling at left back - perhaps safc should have tried him in the middle. Finds it difficult to pass the ball down the left. I think the jury's out on him at the minute.

gpaulterrier (U6850552) posted Jan 13, 2007 being a town fan i have followed staedinho's career very closely and obviously have some insight into warnock as well i think neil has done his homework on this one. look at the managers steady has performed for. Peter Jackson a larger than life character with plenty to say for himself and has an ability to instill confidence (until recnetly lol)
