Bring them home

England
comment on the article

Star man Freddie spoons a half tracker to mid-wicket for a duck with England needing just 222 from their 20. England again show a lack of aptitude to build any sort of innings that resembles the game of cricket I know.

Surely its time for the England government to intervene and bring our boys home! Under the premise of British service men behaving / performing disastrously abroad. They truly are an embarrassment to our great country that goes way beyond the excuse that we are playing the best team in the world.

Let them sneak off to their homes with acres of land, retire to their games room with their smoking jackets on and consider how once they were considered - really quite good. With their MBEs for company they have enough fond memories to never have to put any hard yards in again.

England have a chance ....if they play alone, then they may win, what a shame to see them play so bad.We all want a competitive game but all we see is England crumble

As an Australian I love to see Australia win, but I have to say that I have grown tired of seeing the English cricket team loose so badly, I'm actually loosing interest in cricket this summer, especially when England play, I actually switched channels during the 20/20 and watched a documentary on how king arthur was a Roman?, and that London was an old Roman town?, it was very interesting. I feel embarressed for the English players and fans, even when England had lost the ashes I still thought they would make a contest of the final two tests, they surely wouldn't loose all 5!,... but we all know how that all ended, I hope to start seeing some competitive cricket soon or I may have resort to watching replays of the world cup instead!

OK. the plan is to beat NZ 4 out of 5. Get Fleming out cheaply. treat Bond and Vettori with respect when batting. Then rotate everyone in all matches against AUS with all possible bowling and batting combinations so that one win comes along. That will qualify for 3 match final - that should be the aim.

I like Bob Woolmers comments. To my mind england should not have declared in Adelaide
(I'm certain Ponting wouldn't have). Oz got the momentum after a strategic error to go for a draw (players aren't geared for draws now).
And with that momentum (like England got on the first day of the second test last Ashes)
Oz with all the fire-power firing cleaned up.
We had the hunger and the experience. That can
change pretty quickly. England did have a couple of weak links and Oz had one (Symonds)
but weak links can also be matchwinners.
there's no doubt England can turn it around with the development of Anderson & Mahmood.
Panesar already has the goods. These guys can
win it for England in the next series. Simon

Hi guys!

I just wanted to say that I started following Cricket last year but now I am disillusioned with the way the sport is going.

It is not like the old days (2005) when the players played for tuppance and played with heart.

Now it is all about the money and I think England have lost their way.

It hurts me to say this but I will no longer be supporting English cricket.

They just dont have enough fight to EARN my support...

I am under no illusion that the VB series will do anything but further harm Englands chances in the World Cup (not that they were all that great anyway). The thrashing that we are going to receive, from both Australia and New Zealand, will only serve to demoralise the players still further. I am usually as optomistic a fan as any, but this tour has all but drained me of any spark of positivity. Our attack does not seem able to apply any sustained periods of pressure at this level and our most destructive batsmen are too inconsistent to post challenging totals. It is a pity that we cannot just leave the Aussies and Kiwis to play amongst themselves, and come home to lick our wounds.

When I look back at what I have just written it seems incredibly defeatist, but my confidence in this team's ability to even compete with the other two sides, has been woefully undermined. The Australians have no respect for this side any more and behind some politely veiled comments about England playing well in patches, privately regard us as a laughing stock. It was ever thus, and they wonder why we revelled in the Ashes win after 18 years of this mediocrity!

That said, I am hopeful that some of our young guns can go on to greater things and have a sneaking feeling that the Ausie bubble might get burst sooner rather than later.

it was a really good match. I really enjoyed watching austrlia bat and then bowl. Englang need to pull themselves together if they want to win one of the odi's.
