Steven MacLean's strike earned Sheffield Wednesday a well-deserved replay against Manchester City.

The Premiership visitors looked to have won the game when Georgios Samaras converted a 78th-minute penalty after Graham Coughlan fouled Micah Richards.

But a minute later, MacLean arrowed in a shot through a crowd of players.

Wednesday had the better chances to win the game in the dying minutes but MacLean and subsitute Wade Small were off-target.

Give your thoughts on the match.

MossSideDave,

How can you predict a 4-1 city win? If this game is anything to go by and Wed play as well as they can then it will be a very interesting game. Our away from is excellent.
The simple fact is that Wed played extremely well, answered all Man City's Q's and were unlucky not to win.

I just think that we will be a different proposition for you at Eastlands.

Not withstanding that, Wednesday were the better team today.

Pearce's a great guy and we all know he is passionate and honest for what thats worth!? But he may not be the best manager when it comes to making the best from what you have, for example O'niel has done at Villa. He was a great player and if he went to a club like Chelsea and had the players they have or was handed £50 million to rebuild he would be able to manage and win games on passion alone... But not at Man city with the players he has. Sorry. I Richards and Barton leave in Jan? It will be a sad day for Mr Pearce. Man City should hold on to the players they have because their values will rise the more Ricahrds plays(England) and the more influential Barton becomes(England) Look to buy a Striker and someone with some width, SWP would be perfect and its a shame they lost him. They really need to buy for two reasons, To stay in the Premeirship and to keep the keep the players like Distin, Barton, Richards they need to show them that they have ambition. Speculate to accumulate! With Pearce at the helm and some good players I think they could go on to be a great side. I wish him well.

Thank god we don't all have the same view as some of the new breed of managers have about this nations fa cup. The excitement that can only be a cup match. The end to end football played in front of 28,500 fans at hillsborough today. A match full of incidents, good football two sides willed on by thier respective fans. Echoed only by 2 managers I'm sure enjoyed the day at the office unlike some I won't mention. Even having time to laugh and joke about the game and it's incidents with each other several times. "not to mention loosing a corner flag" I feel I cannot finnish without a mention to Mark Crossley the Wednesday keeper. What a month this is for the old man scores with a header 1 week. The next they put him on the pitch let's say not at his best, infact if he was a race horse the viewers would have rung the rspca and complaind of cruelty. We watch him pick himself up time and time again recieve treatment and carry on save after save. Long live the spirit of the fa cup.

Probably a fair result on reflection, but from a visiting supporter's perspective, what a truly diabolical ground Hillsborough has become. Almost 3,000 in the West Stand Lower and just one catering outlet (no beer by the way!) and one WC! I realise City fans are spoilt with the fantastic facilities the City of Manchester Stadium has to offer, but really Hillsborough is not even on a par with Maine Road. Is there any wonder they no longer play FA Cup semi-finals here?

Can't comment on the state of the away facilities at Hillsborough but the home facilities are only mediocre nowadays compared to some of the newer stadia. The truth is, we are £25 million in debt and when you hit that position without the comfort of a fat Sky tv contract to keep you afloat then pie huts, bars and toilets become secondary - especially when that part of the ground has fans in it twice a year as the West Stand lower usually does.
