Hargreaves nonsence...

Premiership Manchester United

Is anyone else sick of all this Hargreaves nonsence? This is what Bayern Munich want. They want everyone to make a big fuss out of nothing so Man Unt have to pay silly amounts of money to get him. All this $hizer about "German football not being about money", is just getting soo boring. They are waiting and waiting till Man Unt end up throwing money at them. For goodness sake, just because he had one good game against a mediocure Portugal team, that England should have won blindfolded. He has been consistanly bad for England for the past five years, giving away possesion, making stupid tackles, getting yellow cards, etc, etc. Don't get me wrong hes a hard working player, but until he can prove it consistanly, why should Unt pay 20mill for him?

Firstly, ANOTNAC, learn to write properly - who taught you English?!

Secondly, anyone aware Hargreaves' performances week-in-week-out for Bayern will know exactly why Munich have never wanted to sell him - he has been their most consistent player, and the fans love him!

Its very simple, Bayern don't want him to go so they tried to fend off interest by being stubborn. Deep down they knew via Hargreaves that his mind was made up and this is a chance of a lifetime for him, and so Bayern will hold out for as much cash as possible. They must sell in this window though to avoid risking Utd going cold on the idea and their attitude. My guess £16.8mio.

Can I also suggest Utd will win the league at Man City, Sunday 5th May. Lovely!

Chelski fans, look forward to seeing you selling your shirts on eBay in a couple of years time after Roman's lost interest and you're fighting for UEFA cup places again. You need solid foundations to last a lifetime.

Right, the people who are saying OH isn't worth £20 mill either need their head examining or do not know a great deal about football.
OH is 25yrs old, has been in the first team of one of the top european clubs for the last 5 yrs.He has won 3 bundesliga titles, 2 german cups, the champions lge and the continental cup, all before the age of 25! He can play all over the midfield, and even as a right back! As a footballer, he has at least 5 more yrs at the top level. He is exactly what Man Utd need, a strong energetic footballer, who not only tackles brilliantly, but can also pass the ball effectively. Yes he is never going to take on 4 players and waltz past them, but that's y Utd have got ronaldo, rooney, giggs etc.
Lets face it, DMF players are coveted for their ability for break up opponents play, and provide cover for the back four. Following the world cup, it is evident that OH has got it in leaps and bounds. £20 mill for an experienced international, who has consistently performed at the highest level is in my opinion good business. As i said earlier, he still has the best years of his career ahead of him, and Fergie would do well to sign him.

I totally agreed with the writer and in addition,
Owen Hargreaves doesnt worth 20m. Man United will just be wasting their money on him if they pay that amount.

To me, he most not pass 7m. But I know Fergie is crazy about English players, he may endup paying about 15m on him.

My good advice to United is that they should have a look at Mohammed AbuTrecka of Al-Ahly and Egypt(the current 2nd BBC African player of the year 2006). I am sure he will make a better player than Hargreaves. But as an old ManUnited fan, I also know that Fergie dosnt like African players.

Lastly, pls can somebody tell me what Carrick(another English player)has done so far in United after spending so much money on him?

OK 20 million may be just a bit steep, but putting his true value in context, he is closer to that figure, than far from it. I will say 16-18 million.
Compare. Veron at 28m, Essien at 24 m, Carrick at 14-18m. What price would you put on fellow England central midfielders Gerrard and Lampard in today's market.
So, regarding age, position, nationality, world cup/champions league experience/ league titles, mother club...I'm afraid we'll have to put up or shut up.

I think Roman is going to buy him and then use him as a bench warmer...just to stop Man Yoo from getting him...

I'd say Ashley Cole was our best player in the WC, seeing as he saved Terrys arse numerous times and made Ronaldo look average, as he does nearly every single time they meet

You better be joking, very time man utd hav come across arsenal christiano has had ahley in tangles! h is outmuscled, outpaced, outplayed in most aspects of th game. + Christiano was one of the outstanding players of the world cup. He was the man who put england out of it!

I've never understood the whole Hargreaves debate.
The guy has more titles than any of our homegrown players. The guy has been consistent in one of the best team in Europe and is very popular among the German fans.

The thing with Owen is that random English fans do not accept that he was born and bred abroad, that he has played in Germany and that he was of Eriksson's favorite along with Becks.

At the end of the day, Confusedlama is obviously very confused. Hargreaves did not play that much games for England. Since the Portugal game, he has been trumendous (against Greece, Andorra and Macedonia). I don't like to use "ifs" but I'm sure England would have played better football with him.

Now, does he worth £20? Of course not.
Is he a top class player? Of course he is.

hargreaves, there is no debate whether he is worth 20 mil or not worth it! the debate should be where man utd would play him! carrick, giggs, ronaldo, scholes, someone is going to have to make way!
im a fan of hargreaves and still would love him to come to man utd as we need a top notch squad to compete these days, its a sign of the times that if man utd come in for a player just like chelsea you can add another 5 million on the value of a player, but to say he hasnt proved himself is utter rubbish, constantly plays for munich, and is one of there most consistent performers, he was our best player in the world cup, so forget about him not having proved himself...
as for carrick, who ever said he is invisible on the pitch, basically if you dont hear much of carrick its because he is doing a good job, he is there to plug any gaps and give it to one of the forward players, yes we paid over the odds for carrick but i think he is playing well for us now, and seriously do you think fergie would play him if he wasnt doing the business??? i think we should trust fergie, he has deserved that for all he has done for us!!!

You obviously don't watch football then mate. Simple as. When was the last time Ronaldo scored against England or Arsenal or Chelsea? Watch the highlights of the games mate, you won't even know he's there.
