Beckham effect

Premiership Liverpool Man Utd Real Madrid

I'm having a good chuckle perusing the boards these last few months.

Beckham has been linked by someone at sometime with Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Bolton, Blackburn, West Ham, Everton, Portsmouth- maybe more that I've forgot.

I think there has barely been a board I've visited that didn't have a Beckham rumour. And we're not even touching the US, Italian, Israel rumours. It really is an interesting phenomena- and it's probably because any of those teams are feasible.

An aging celeb. he still has enough skill to be a fringe player at a top team- or an experienced captain "wonder-signing" for a smaller team. And because of his "fame" you really could see a small team paying over the odds to buy him for the status symbol effect.

Either way- let the rumours surrounding him keep flying- its giving me a good laugh... Perhaps he can sign for the FA instead... make random cameo appearances at games where the score is a boring 0-0 wearing a random teams' top.

I think as Beckham only has 2-3 years left of his career he would be best staying at Real until he retires. I dont think many premiship teams can afford him also he is not needed at manchester as they have the skill of people like ronaldo now so he is not needed in the squad. i think the teams that do need him like west ham, bolton his talent would be wasted there with being such a brilliant player and good image for young people in Britian he shouldnt be retiring at clubs like that he should retire with the best which Real is. It would be a pleasure if Beckham came back to the Premiship but no team need you with people like Ronaldo, Ballack etc....
So stay at Real!

The only argument I can see for him staying at Real is that he hasn't won any honours, so doesn't want to be labelled a failure.

He isn't playing regularly (7 starts in 25 games), and the arrival of Gago could push him down the pecking order. Only the president, not Capello, has said they want him to stay which I suspect is for marketing reasons.

He can earn as much at other top clubs, and on a Bosman can command top wages and signing on fee in the summer, with a free transfer appealing to a lot of clubs.

In his early 30's, what Becks loses in competitive speed he more than makes up for in Field General experience. I've lived Stateside for 14 years & it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Although the USA might seem alluring, I think Becks would enjoy his everyday life more by returning to his native soil to play out his career. As a Man Utd fan, obviously I'd like to see him complement the midfield again, but the Premiership in general needs more homegrown superstars. Come home, mate!

Beckham will take the easy option and go to America. He hasn't got the character to come back to England and prove McClaren wrong. Beckham is undoubtedly within the best 22 players at the Englang managers disposal but McClaren has sensed his hunger has gone.

Go to Bolton Beckham and shine at a small club, get yourself on MOTD and get back in the squad. But his Mrs wears the trousers and I can't see her swapping the Bernabeu for the Reebok. He'll go to the US to get his ego stroked like the flash harry he is.

I don't think he would entertain going to Bolton.Profile not high enough for him and false spice and also they work a lot harder than what Beckham is used to.

I would like to thank David Beckham for not joining Barcelona when he had the chance. If we had signed him, we would not have signed Ronaldinho and went on to win the La Liga titles and the Champions League. Good choice David, where's your medals ?

Bet you are glad you phoned the Real president and requested the move now
