Reading tore apart West Ham as Alan Curbishley came no closer to dragging the Hammers out of the relegation zone.

Brynjar Gunnarsson nodded in Nicky Shorey's free-kick for the opener and Stephen Hunt's header doubled the lead.

Anton Ferdinand headed an own goal to make it 3-0 inside 30 minutes before Kevin Doyle rifled home a fourth.

The one-way traffic continued after the break as Leroy Lita slotted in a fifth on 53 minutes before Doyle headed in Shorey's corner to complete the rout.

Oh coomon, let the manager work please. With Watford out of the equaton there are 4 teams that will fight for 2 places, and I'm taking about Sheffield U, Wigan, Charlton and the Hammers.
They haven't been relegated yet, ok? We'll know in May.

Curbs knows what he is doing ,but it will take too long to sort out.He is right not to play Tevez.Tevez is a luxury player who would enhance an already successful side. What he has to offer is no help to a struggling side .This is why he looks good and looks threatening ,but unless he has other top class players to make make his contribution count, he is wasted. The fact that he has neither scored nor assisted demonstrates this.

Dean Ashton and Robert Green did not get Norwich relegated. There were more than them two in the squad!!!

Plus Ashton was only there for half the season.

I think west ham need a completely new back 4 and a goalie i don't like green he is dodgy with crosses he seems to be another david james a good shot stopper and thats it. why did pardew and now curbishly play tevez on the left wing? he's a forward not a winger so now that the transfer window is open again west ham can purchase a natural left winger to give etherington some competiton, but to be honest i think about 6-8 players are needed not just one we need competition in all areas of the pitch that way players will want to stay in the team and they will play for their places instead of thinking ohh we haven't got anyone to replace me so it doesn't matter how i play.

any of these would bee good

Luke steel (GK)
Kasper Schmeichel (GK)
Leighton baines (LB)
J Lloyd Samuel (LB)
Wayne Bridge (LB) unlikely though
Unsure of a Right Back sadface
Ridgewell (CB)
Christopher Eagles (RM)
SWP (RM)
Joey Barton (CM)
Gavin Hoyte (CB) arsenal

If only a few of these joined it would help

I'm slightly confused as to some of the comments I am reading! We were wrong in sacking Alan Pardew and replacing him with Curbishley. The preformances since Curbishley took over have been poor (notwithstanding the Man Utd result which he openly admitted had nothing to do with him). We need to face facts, Curbishley will take us down. He hardly excelled at Charlton. As a life long Irons fan I'm digusted at the way our club has behaved and the almost sycophantic reverence shown to Curbishley. If the limits of our ambition are to mirror Charlton what do we expect? (or deserve). Tevez and Mascherano both need to start. We are a Championship team that did well last year - but I fear we are destined to return. The precipitous sacking of Pardew has given the Club nowhere to go!

It's second season syndrome.Wigan are having the same problem.
The only difference is that we've replaced our half decent players who left at the end of last season with sub standard players.

West Ham have kept the same players who now seem totally demotivated.

Reo Coker has obviously under performed due to the fact he wasn't told Arsenal had come calling and has spat the dummy out.

To stay up Curbishly will have to kick some over pampered backsides.Jewell will have to sign some half decent players.

That was poor game from West Hamsadface. Why they didn't used Tevez and Mascherano.
