Second-half substitute Georgios Samaras sparked a City revival with two goals as Stuart Pearce's men claimed their first home victory since November.

City burst into life after a dismal first half when Samaras slotted home DaMarcus Beasley's cross 49 minutes in.

He then fired in a penalty 21 minutes later after keeper Tim Howard brought down Darius Vassell.

Everton's Leon Osman clawed a goal back late on but could not stop City sealing their third straight league win.

This loss is simply a result of use not taking our chances, simple as that. I guess maybe it's time we considered getting rid of BT and giving Vic his spot, after all, he started against Newcastle and he got two goals.

Does any of the 606 team actually write their own articles or is it always the same as ceefax and the first four paragraphs of the report on the web?

Did DM play BT and Davies just to get them in the shop window?

3 wins on the bounce! I mean back to back wins was a bit of a shocker but now this is just not City! I mean it was good to see us scrap out a win even though we did not perform to our potential. Also nice to see Samaras back on the scoresheet. I really want to see him become a success in the Premiership, mainly because we do not want to see 6 million go to waste. I kinda see him as a bit of a rough diamond, just needs to be tutored along by Stuart Pearce. Everton should have had two penalties, but i guess sometimes they go for you and sometimes they do not. Keep it up City!

fair post there mate.

It appears that if your Everton you don't get pens anymore.

Tell you what when Howard conceeded the pen it was great to see the City players not get involved and let the ref deal with it in his own way.

grrr
just when we are doing well wit a striker
dm puts on bt!!!
whos only goals have come from 2 penaltes!!
v.a has played far less games and scored the same amount of goals!!!!
its stupid
we should get rid of bt and buy a few decent players
