Liverpool 3-0 Bolton

Premiership Liverpool
comment on the article

Liverpool climbed above Bolton to third in the Premiership after a superb second-half performance at Anfield.

Peter Crouch grabbed the first, the striker majestically volleying in from eight yards after fine approach play from Dirk Kuyt and Jermaine Pennant.

Kuyt was again involved two minutes later as Steven Gerrard brilliantly volleyed in the Dutchman's cross.

After Jussi Jaaskelainen saved well from Sami Hyypia, Kuyt got his goal by drilling under the Bolton goalkeeper.

"yeh yeh yak yak! Fergie wil retire when he wins another ECL. That is less than 2 years away!"

Man Utds European form is still poor despite your improved league form. You lost two games in your group, and went fairly close to being eliminated at the group stages for the second year running.

"And Man u for the prem for the next 3 yrs"

Are you predicting Man U to win the title in each of the next three years? You haven't even won it one year running yet...

Man U have some very tough fixtures coming up, especially away from home so the title race is still wide open in my opinion.

United Fixtures
Villa H (3 points)
Arsenal A (0 points)
Watford H (3)
Spurs A (1)
Charlton H (3)
Fulham A (3)
Liverpool A (0)
Bolton H (1)
Blackburn H (3)
Portsmouth A (1)
Sheff Utd H (3)
Chelsea A (0)
Boro H (3)
Man City A (0)
Everton A (1)
West Ham H (3)

I can see united dropping points at Portsmouth, Man City, Spurs, Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. Plus the home game against Bolton will be difficult. The title race is still on as I expect you to drop at least another 20 points between now and the end of the season.

Woody,

What "young" player apart from Agger is getting regular first team football at Liverpool?

Gonzalez, Sissoko. Reina is young for a keeper as well.

Good response

Could argue that Reine, Sissoko and Agger are first 11.

Now according to Dave, United have an aging team.

Yet in the first 11 there are 2 x 21 year olds, younger than all you have mentioned.

Evra, Vidic, Carrick are approx 25, Rio and Saha still in 20s.

Doen't look like an aging team to me...

Pennant is still young as well even though hes been at quite a few clubs, sissoko if benitez hadnt wasted him in the carling cup would have helped us further up the table than we are.

Well pointed out false hope but even you must admit that the only two players that come close to the Golden oldies are Ronaldo and rooney when hes plying well, carricks not a bad player but hes got a long way to go before he becomes as good as scholes or butt for that matter.

Anyway im bored of this it was nice to finally chat to some Man U fans, the only fans i meet in manchester these theys are AFC united and City.

Dave I think we done this to death.

Still suprised that you say Rio and Vidic aren't any good.

Whilst saying Pennant is worth having...

Say hello to all the city and Fc United fans for me..

Well, you are arrogant. If Bolton had £73m to spend in 2 seaosns, not long ball at all. I'm a Bristol City fan and although our chairman has sold his business for £200m, is worth £290m and other director worth £80m, how much do we get to spend? £7k in the summer and that's after Lita left for £1m, Coles £200k, Golbourne £200k, Miller £200k,, Smith free, 6 players loaned out so less wages. So don't say you've spent hardly anything or blame money ffs.
