Ferguson denies Neville report

Premiership Manchester United
comment on the article

Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed reports that Gary Neville will be out for six weeks because of calf and knee injuries.

The 31-year-old England defender is in the squad to face Newcastle on Monday.

"He's playing on Monday, so that six weeks has obviously been reduced by a miracle drug," joked Ferguson, who celebrated his 65th birthday on Sunday.

"This has supposedly come from a great authority. What kind of authority is it when he's going to play on Monday?"

I'm not sure why we should comment; so journalists don't check their facts or print lies when it comes to football, quel surprise, then they wonder why mangers get pissed off and won't talk to them!

One of Mourinho's tactics to make people believe MANU are struggling with injuries. First it was Carrick few days back, now its Neville, next is RIO?

Do you think MANU will succumb to your "Mind Games" let go the lead? No way JOSE!

If boss says he's playing tomorrow, he's playing.

As to the injury and POsSIBlE need for surgery, it wasn't backed by definitive information, yet again. Injury while has been nagging off and on for half a year has NOT BEEN LOCALIZED in its cause. Therefore how can there be surgery when the remedy is speculative to say the least.

If these journalist are credible, they would have stated that the possible cause has been identified. For example in J Terry's case. Otherwise, their reporting, as the subject matter (Neville needing surgery) is both speculative.

If Gary Neville was out for six weeks, it wouldn't be the end of the world because we have other players such as Wes Brown who are capable of stepping in and performing extremely well biggrin

LAVOIVOD.

I think we need Gary's experience as things start to hot up in March.

I think he is going to have the surgery at the end of the season because if Fergie believed he would need one this would be the time

Garry Neville is a stalwart of the team and needs to be involved fully if United are to sustain this challenge to Chelsea.

Neville is clearly carrying a calf injury as he is rested regularly and has been missing with it on several occasions. I think the media were right to report he is struggling.

The error of course was he would miss 6 weeks. I would expect Gary being Gary he will get by on injections or intense treatment until the end of the season then go for an op.

Please, don't be faster than your shadow.
Neville is clearly carrying a calf injury as said by SIR FERGIE,But, he cannot allow him just like that,he can never go on break without good replacement,Therefore,CALF INJURY OR NO CALF INJURY,Neville will finish the season before any action will taken. So,don't pray for such abscent.
