What does everyone think that Bolton will do in the tranfer window. I think we have got a great team but maybe short in numkbers. I think we need a couple of signings just to stenghen up the squad. What sort of player(s) do you think should be brought in if any.

Stantheman is a very sore Villa fan. Like others of his ilk he has not learned the valuable "get over it" lesson. We're sitting 3rd in the league after 5 straight wins. Villa have been on a poor run after a very promissing start. I think Bolton helped them on to the poor run. Oh well!

On to the transfer window ... looks like we'll soon lose Ben Haim so we'll definitely need a replacement for him and another left back to cover for Ricardo Gardner. Other than that we have a good line up now and I can't see us needing more than that.

i reckon we wont get a silly offer for ben haim so sam wont let him go. he's said if we miss out on europe because we've let our best defender go we'd be far worse off money wise, so he'll keep him and let him go for nowt at end of season, damn bosman rule! its good when your trying to build a squad on the cheap, and if it weren't for that we probly wouldn't be where we are now, but not great when you wanna keep hold of good players you've actually paid money for!

gotta get a left back or get ricardo back in the squad, pederson not good enough against most opposition and benny at left back is another reason why he wants to go

I agree with the price range but Joey Barton. We wont get him and we dont need him. The rest of them would be good. What do you think of these.
Alan Smith loan
Bernard Mendy 2-3m
Giles Barnes/Ben Watson 2-3m
Aldo Duscher
And then hopefully Ben Haim and Davies can sign news contracts

alan smith good idea, would fit perfectly into our midfield and would give us chance to rest speed more often. is he injured again or just cant get match fit at utd? cuz i aint seen him for ages. he came back from the dislocated ankle but since then...

At the moment, we aren't too desperate for new players: suspensions seem to be happening irregularly rather than all at once, there is no African Nations Cup this year (watch out for 2008 though!) and we've been lucky with injuries. Also we haven't too many players who are crucial, but for whom we have no backup. And the better time to attract the quality of players that we now need will be when we've secured European competition for next season.

However, six weeks down the line things could be very different and I don't want to see our current exceptional position be frittered away like last season; not to achieve European football for next season would now be terrible.

So, getting the likes of Alan Smith in on loan would be a very sensible piece of business for Sam. Also Mendy, who had one good, if not very good season, for us would be worth shelling out £2 mill. My main short term concern is if Campo gets injured (remember Arsenal "doing" him last season?). No other player in our small squad has his passing ability. Faye can fill a similar stopper role in the front of the back four, but comes nowhere near Campo in terms of passing. Campo also has unequalled footballing nous: he was the first Bolton player to really latch on to Anelka's qualities and how to deliver him the best service. So, if we could find a similarly experienced holding midfielder with top passing skills............
Any ideas for under £3 million? (I daresay Sam is trekking across snowy Scandinavian tundra or hacking through South American jungle in search as I type!).

All the best to all Wanderers for '07 ale

ha ha a villa fan trying to dis bolton, scoring goals 4-0 agaisnt teams is just rubbish to watch isint it, Anelka, Diouf and Vas te are just boring a rnt they with no skil what so ever, open your eyes! just because are defenders dont jump on the floor crying and we dont have players like angel who is a fiary makes us ugly when your in the top half of the table and can score more than 1 a match come back. also remember when we beat u 4-2 i nthe carling cup a couple of years back, ugly my ass

I'd like to see a new Okocha come in, add some more flair to our midfield. Mendy needs to be brought in so Hunt can move to the bench, and we should be ok.

Aldo Duscher from Deportivo La coruna has a simular style to Campo. We were interested in him in the Summer. He would probably be available for 2-4m.

We lack any class in building attacks and i agree we need a creative midfielder like okocha. How about Jason Koumas? relatively cheap and could be a real steal.
All aout service to anelka, thats allwe need short-term.

Think Smith on loan would be a tremendous bit of business to tide us over into europe.

Defence is pretty consistent, we need to concentrate on improving goal difference from attack.

Also think it is time to cash in on stelios. Turning into bit part player to often for me vs value.

HENRICK PEDERSON OUT!! anyones dad down at the park could do better. How he is a footballer is beyond me.
