Charlton Athletic 2 - 2 Fulham

Franck Queudrue's stoppage-time volley denied Alan Pardew a winning start as Charlton's new boss.

Charlton went behind after 12 minutes when Brian McBride netted after Carlos Bocanegra hit the bar with a header.

But Charlton quickly pulled level when Darren Ambrose scored with a shot following Antti Niemi's weak punch.

Just before half-time Darren Bent pounced on a mix-up between Liam Rosenior and Bocanegra, but Queudrue's late goal ensured Fulham got a point.

"I notice no mention of the blatent penalty that Fulham should have had followed by the handball by Kishishev. Fulham deserved all 3 points and were unlucky not to win given we gifted Charlton 2 stupid goals."

-------------------------Well said WoteverWhite, but lets face it, the media wanted a Charlton win, and the last thing they would do is point out the mistake Poll made in not awarding Fulham a penalty.

"was you there?, was you one of the 10 foolham fans that arrived in that cab??, even conferance sides have better away support...new years resolution..must get some more foolham fans !!!"

superCAFC4LIFE,

There were between 1500 - 2000 Fulham fans at last nights game. This is far better than the 500 Charlton fans that turned up at the Cottage.

Would you care to comment on the number of Charlton fans who turned up at Middlesbrough ?. We may not have a great number of away supporters, but we have never had just 56 fans turn up for an away game.

I am surprised that none of the pundits picked up on the fact that darren bent was offside for his second goal.check the video recording and you will find that he starts his run at least two yards offside.

Whilst I don't believe Graham Poll to be a competent referee I cannot blame him for awarding last nights ridiculous free kick which led to Fulham's second goal. He was badly let down by his assistant who flagged for a handball which never occurred . As we would all as Football supporters like to think that officials only give decisions when they are 100% sure they are right, the FA should take a long look at the Assistant Referee as he flagged for an offence that he clearly cannot have seen as it never happened!

Sorry, but Derren Bent was not offside. You cant be offside if you receive the ball direct from a goal kick.

not a dead ball kick....! Kicked out of his hands - therefore offside

you can only be offside from a deadball goalkick, not one from the keepers hand

sorry to correct you meoracle but you cannot be offside directly from a goalkick, corner or throw-in..(Law 11 or 16 I think!). From the hands you can be deemed offside.(no different from an outfield players' pass.)

I thought I was in a parralell universe when all the talk was about a dodgy decision by the lino, when clearly Fulham wewre by far the better side and another day would have had at least one penalty and the defenders who decided it was panto time would not be saying to the otherwise ineffective Bent 'here yer go son tap that one in'. By the way when do you ever hear the so could experts mention that Fulham have at the moment at least 5 regular players injured, but of course we're not talking about the so called elite.... As for Mr Poll, yet again we saw him at his very worst. It must be something he eats or drinks that makes him give so many poor decisions, how many times was Routledge obstructed right in front of him and when Kishiface dived to block a shot in the box he was no more that 3 feet away. Total N.bhead.
