When will this guy understand that when his team is doing well he should leave his fingers out of the paella and let the winning side continue. It is not the first time he has changed a winning side and been on the end of a wastefull opportunity to close the gap on Chelsea. Yet to change his winning team against a side that has been spanked by Arsenal 6-2 only days aearlier, is playing at home on Boxing day, has an ex-player returning to Ewood Park for the first time since leaving, and to then put Peter Crouch on instead of Dirk Kuyt (who has put together some great performances alongside Bellamy, it makes me wonder what needs to happen to make him realise that it does not work. Did he really think Blackburn would not put up a fight in this encounter?!

Perhaps I would be writing a different piece if Crouch had bagged a brace or more, but that was never expected from him, especially under the circumstances. Bellamy and Kuyt look far more threatening, and even more so than when Crouch has not played so often in recent weeks, so why change? What added value? Oh well, there is always the death of Pauline Fowler to reflect upon to cheers us all up.

did anyone see riise after the game laughing and clapping to the fans, he obviously doesn't care about the club and just tries scoring ridiculous goals everytime he gets the ball which 19 times out of 20 go miles over the bar

its really annoying but, he won't get sacked and the pressure is something he doesn't care about so i don't see him changing his ways. the board MUST step in

Rotating the squad is normal for clubs playing in 4 competitions so lay off benitez and face the real issues. YOUR PLAYERS ARENT GOOD ENOUGH! ManU played with 6 starters out and still managed to destroy wigan, who are a hundred times better than blackburn. Blame benitez for terrible players he bought not for his in-match coaching and preparation. Someone must get it throgh his brain that this EPL not La Liga.

Some of the players need an arm around the shoulder, but Benitez tends to be quite clinical and is task oriented.

Sometimes even macho footballers need their egos caressed !!

What makes me laugh is how you can't help but let your prejudice shine through even when you're trying to make a genuine point. The truth is what happened at Blackburn can and does happen to many teams, even ManU and Chelsea who think they're above this. Chelsea were beaten at Spurs in similar fashion. ManU were beaten at West Ham,Celtic, FC Copenhagen and Southend (was it?) in similar fashion. It happens. Sometimes no matter how much you batter a team you're just not meant to win a game. So to judge how good a team is based on one game is at best juvenile. It doesn't matter where Bolton are or aren't at the moment, the time to judge a team is at the end of the season when the silverware has been distributed and the CL spots earned.Reading your post one would think Bolton have not lost a game this season. We lose one we should have won comfortably and suddenly we're a midtable team! How does that work out?-----------

What doesn't make me laugh is that Bolton are in third place in the table 2 points ahead of Liverpool. And they have already beaten Liverpool this season. Bolton would probably want lots of Liverpool players........if they fancied the UEFA cup instead of the Champions League. Makes it worse with Diouf and Anelka there doesn't it?

spot on red marauder, some very good comments at last some sense, we win several games across all competitions on the bounce and then pummel blackburn which if it wasnt for some bad luck and some heroics from brad friedel we would of won, all of a sudden the rafa bashers come out and slam his tactics, the sheer amount of fixtures the top clubs have to play is immense the rotation system has to be done otherwise a solid 11 would be burnt out long before now. Chelsea, man u and arsenal do exactly the same and they have come unstuck more than once this season in a similar fashion.
Stop bashing rafa give some support to what is shaping up to be an excellent season, still in all competitions and chelsea in 2nd place i believe can still be caught.
come on you reds put that one behind you.

Here we go again ! Rafa is crap, now he's lost a game again. Win against Spurs and he will be the best thing since sliced bread (what was the best thing before sliced bread was it just bread ????)

All the talk of an ex player putting in that special performance against his old club also came true at Ewood Park. Trouble is it was Friedel that I am talking about here !

Benitez is a good manager but he is struggling to find the right blend at times because his players are not being consistent from game to game. Who would predict it would be Gerrard (now he's back in the middle where he always performs at his best according to Randy Gay , Helen Ansen and Florence Markensen etc) who would play a stinker yesterday ? Didn't see , read or hear many pundits saying they might have been wrong about putting him in the centre again after that showing !!!

You see every one is too fickle sometimes. That was a freak result. Blackburn created one very, very good chance and took it. As for Liverpool well ...sometimes it just happens like that . But I just feel that when they go a goal down the team can't seem to step a gear at the moment (that old confidence factor!). But, people, remember it's Xmas and there is still time to put things right...Although our away record in the North West is almost as bad as in London this season !!
