But seriously: signings

Newcastle United

Who can Newcastle United feasibly attract and sign in the January transfer window? Who can provide experienced cover for injury and who will provide long term competition for a place in the starting eleven?

Leighton Baines would make a great left-back and Bobby Zamora a perfect fit as a striker. Though young, both have premiership experience and demonstrated talents.

Dave Nugent is not available for 5m, reports suggest Sheff Utd had a 6m bid turned down.

Eastwood definetly an option young, cheap, one for the future. But no more than 1 maybe 1.5 might provide cover for the moment and be a squad player next year. But even if fit Charlton, even though down aint gonna let him go until the summer.

We should buy Wayne Bridge, Zat Knight, Matthew Upson, Peter Crouch and Wright-Phillips but I don't know if West Ham may bid for him.

Yeah to the defenders but why to SWP and Crouch. WHY play 10 mill for a winger who aint as good as milner and Crouch is gonna cost far to much and is not worthy of the white of england and i dont think he would fit in the black and white

Yes to the defenders and Crouch (If we can afford them all), no to Wright-Phillips for exactly the reason timberheadtoon said. Milner is a future England player (as is Taylor).

An experienced defender is needed, youth is catered for by Ramage and Taylor. Maybe a Wes Brown - lots of experience. Huntelaar should definitely be considered, a great goal scorer. Miguel might fit the English game as a fullback with his forays down the right flank for Portugal in the World Cup.

As most people know who watch the premiership and even cup matches it is clear that Newcastle need some good defenders, mainly a left back. We could also use a attacking idfielder and/or a striker. My suggestions are that Newcastle start bidding for Taye Taiwo a young left wing-back and Samir Nasri a young winger/centre attacking midfield/ striker. I have seen Nasri play in all these positions and i consider him one of the best young players in Europe at the moment if Newcastle are to get Nasri for around £10 mil and Taiwo for around £6 mil, they get a great bargain for two great players that they need.
