Bayern hint at Hargreaves sale

Premiership Manchester United
comment on the article

Bayern Munich appear to have softened their stance over Manchester United target Owen Hargreaves.

Since United first expressed their interest this year, Bayern have remained adamant they will not sell the 25-year-old England midfielder.

But general manager Uli Hoeness said: "If ever we found a replacement for Owen, who cost less than we'd get for him, we might think about it."

But Hoeness said any deal would take place next summer and not in January.

Give your thoughts on the latest on Hargreaves' future...

Hargreaves is like Bryan Robson - solid gold - priceless.

Hargreaves is another Bryan Robson type signing - you just get out your cheque-book and make them an offer they cannot refuse.

Its time United invests in some good new players and Owen should be one of them. The result at Upton Park underlines the urgency for the enrichment. Its very difficult to fight in two top competitions - CL & PL - with just 15 players.

Hargreaves Would Be A Excellent Signing For Us, He Would Add The Drive and Competitveness That We Lack Since Keano the Legend Has Gone!! I Hope We Get Nani and Torres In Summer

Have you ever actually seen Nani play? What about Torres, apart from the WC and the odd Atletico game that gets aired on Sky (usually when they play Real or Barca!)?

If not, why do you hope that we get them so much? Just wondered...

I think Bayern should let Hargreaves go because his family lives in the north west and that's absolutely evil to not let him see his family, and plus if Hargreaves wants to come to United he won't play as well for Munich, so they should sell him to united for their sake as well as Hargreaves !!!!!!!!!!! hope we get Torres and come on United bring our trophy back home to OT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hargreaves wud b a great signing 4 us !! however i must agree with Red-Ruud-Roon-Ron about torres.he is not a regular enogh scorer and mite upset the saha and rooney partnership which is workin so well this season!!

I think Hargreaves would be an excellent addition to the Man U bench, not first team. Or, he can play as backup for Michael Carrick, because I honestly do not think Darren Fletcher is good enough. Viva Man Utd!
