I have been reading some of the comments about how much will we have to spend and who should we buy? So here is a challange for all the West Ham faithful. YOu have £25 million to spend (as I feel that may be what curbs gets!!! Who do you buy and what is your new starting eleven for the new year.

"Ahly and Egypt playmaker Mohamed Aboutrika is one of three players who have made the final shortlist for the 2006 BBC African Footballer of the Year award." this was taken from the bbc website else so why don't we get him he is being touted alongside essien and drogba for the award so this is saying something.

Matt
I think you have had to much to drink of the festivities how can you even begin to compare NRC to those players and one thing is for sure they always gave 100% NRC has thrown his dummy out since being denied a move in the summer he don't care about the club or the fans because he knows when we get relegated he will be off to someone else. Mascherano is a better player than any of our midfielders but i do not believe we should drop mullins as i think he is underrated and as done well for us apart from the last couple of games. If there is some sort of clause or other reason why Mascerano is not playing the club should come out and say after all we pay the players wages, as I can't believe that Curbs thinks that the likes of Shaun Newton NRC etc are better than Javier and if he does then we deserve to go down.

ok I have been thinking about the NRC problem quite a lot. I now believe that selling him now could be a good move as long as some back up for mascherano and mullins. Shaking the team up like that that could really serve to show the players that if you do not perform you are out the door, it would also leave space for Javier to move into the middle of the park.

If we at totenham they got rid of Carrick and found huddlestone. it would also bring in some good money and in the event we did go down he would probably move for peanuts which is not what we want.

Also i read Yossi Benayoun's comments in the press and i totally agree with him, we did play like drunks and a player needed to come out and say it. I think he should be the new captain , he always
gives 110% percent and leeds from the front.

Also I think the break the players have been given is an excellent idea, it will gie them a chance to think about why the have been playing so poorly and hopefully will rethink there attitudes.

Finally there have been rumours in the press that we are going to sign Volz, he could be a useful addition to the squad for 2Million.

Scott Parker! don't care how much he costs. Also try to get David Healy, D. Bent would be a waste of money right now but if we stay up get him in the summer. I reckon theres still a chance we could get bridge as well, maybe on loan

It's a toughy coz £25m in todays day and age won't get you very far, but for West Ham right now, anywhere out the bottom 3 is worth it. Ok being realistic and not going for the superstars as we haven't got Chelsea money and what players might come to West Ham.
I'd go for Mark Viduka, he'd be a good buy-experienced goal scorer and playmaker. Hasselbank,Darren Bent Lua Lua, Mido, maybe Alan smith I'd prefer big big names for a striker but can't see them coming to West Ham right now or there teams letting them go unless we spend a vast amount of our money.
Beckham I don't think would come to WHU coz victoria wouldn't let him, that goes for Shaun Wright Phillips too, as I don't think Ian would let him come whilst we sit in relegation.
Riise to replace etherington. Freddie Ljunberg, Kevin Nolan, danny murphy (experience) or Alonso if liverpool let him go as they have too many midfielders.
I'd get back Scaloni back, buy Lauren and ben haim, luke young for defence maybe Danny hyypia/carragher for experience.
We need to spend like Harry Rednapp did back in the day for us. What ever happens get rid of lazy selfish players that think they are all that after one season. We'll have to ditch Harewood and Zamora coz they just ain't scoring enough goals and miss far to many. Keep Cole, sheringham (for experience). ditch etherington keep Benayoun. Im 50-50 about reo-coker however, if he pulls his socks up and dedicates himself to helping the club then keep him.

What ever happens the £25m will hopefully help save us. Maybe players will start fighting for their shirts. About Time!!!

Great commonsense from Hammerfan2007. West Ham will not attract Scott Parker or other big names when they are in the bottom three. However, Viduka and Mido are more realistic targets. Your strikers are misfiring and they need to be improved.
