Red Tide

Premiership Liverpool

Chance after chance after chance. Liverpool flowed so well and should have scored more. The red tide is really starting to come in. That's three big wins on the bounce and although we might not be in the race for first we can still improve upon our highest ever Premiership points tally last season to keep the progression of the club going onto a sustained title challenge. The only real concern from today was the lack of goals per chances but I'm sure that will improve as the confidence comes rushing back. Liverpool are looking every bit the great side that they are and simply dismantled Charlton today. I don't recall seeing so many chances and what's more, I don't remember so a variety and creativity to them. Against Portsmouth a few weeks ago Rafa Benitez said that Liverpool had tried every way of creating a goal. Today they did that and more and it's extremely pleasing to the eye to see such well constructed and effective attacking moves.

Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso played beautifully in the middle. Setting the pace with high tempo and quick passes that reminds me of why we are considered the pass and move masters of history. The wide men still stuggled a bit but they appear to be progressing and I think that's the most important thing - to keep moving forward. The defence didn't have all that much to do but Sami Hyypia slotted
in easily. The front two will be a bit disappointed with their lack of goals but again looked creative and tuned into one another. Dirk Kuyt finally looked tired but is a mark of the squads fitness and the tireless type of player that Benitez is increasingly searching out.

I'm so glad we sold Djimi Traore, he looked out of his depth again at times and I have always wondered why because the next minute he exudes confidence - thanks for Istanbul and thanks for today.

What a game for Liverpool, Charlton are certainly struggling but we showed a fluency away from home that has rarely been seen. No one's talking about rotation now.

Ah Mr Kuyt,

me thinks you are clutching at straws.

Whilst both United and Chelsea may drop points, both of them will not fold.

Secondly why do you think, players who get injured will effect the performance of the team.

Scholes whom you mentioned didn't play second half of the season and United still came second.

This year they have had injuries.suspensions to

Heinze, Park, Rooney, Neville, Solskjaer, Silvestre, Smith, Evra, Scholes, Giggs.

They are still 2 points top of the table with a hugh GD.

The fact that no one is injured now and that Larsson, Rossi, Bardlsey et al coming in to the squad plus any new buys.

I think Fergie has got it covered.

Well, Mr False Dawn, for your sake you better be right. From what I've seen of yous in a few of your last games, even ones you've won, you don't have the same sharpness you started the season with. I was very impressed with your start to the season. You've played some swashbuckling championship winning stuff, and this is not just a kneejerk reaction to last night but I sense the machine needs oiling.

Yes there will come a time united have a poor run of results, every team has a spell when they struggle for form in a season. Chelsea seem to win when this happens, they have not played at there peak for the majority of the season but are still only 2 points behind. United have played some great stuff but they wont play like that all season.

Teams go through good spell and bad spells within a season. United have been on top form so far this season but it is asking alot for them to go through a whole season playing the way they are doing at the moment. Players become tired, they loose form, injuries occur. The secret to winning the title is to win games when you arnt playing well, if united can do this they have a great chance.

No Liverpool spending £9 million more than United on 5 players compared to Uniteds 1.

"I think thats alot better than paying £18m for one."-

I dont understand this.

I remember this, a year ago this weekend. Charlton were awful, but Liverpool did well to take advantage.
