comment on the article

BBC football page has reported that Newcastle have ended their run without winning a major trophy as, by being the the last surviving team in the UEFA Cup who entered the Intertoto, they have in effect 'won' thr Intertoto trophy.

Does it feel like a trophy win to you guys or are you waiting until you win the UEFA Cup before celebrating?

Does this count as a real trophy?

I'm not winding you up but as a Man City fan (we've had a long wait aswell) I'm interested to see if you think this 'counts' as a major trophy.

How can you possibly suggest that Tottenham, who have had one lucky season are now a bigger club than Newcastle? We (Newcastle) have 13 injuries from our first team squad and we still managed to finish TOP of our very challenging UEFA Cup group, Oh and we seem to have only been beaten by Chelsea in the last nine games. This leads me on to suggest that the prat who seems to think Newcastle are a mid to low table team has not the slightest idea about Newcastle United Football in general for that matter!! It makes leads me to believe you must be a Man United or Sunderland fan?

Winning is winning, whatever the trophy! Plus we are still competing in other competitions.

I´d like to see Newcastle winning something at last but they´ll never beat Sevilla,Benfica or Bremen.

I can't believe a SPURS supporter could post such dross! 3-1, twice, in a week. NUFC are a much stronger team than Spurs, just wait until Owen is back, we have every chance of winning the UEFA Cup!!

TOON_ARMY_87, you are an absoute muppet if you believe newcastle are a stronger side than spurs. to pinnacleoffruit, spurs ARE better than most, although in fairness, few can rival the newcastle fans!
