Zara Phillips

comment on the article

Well done to Zara Phillips for winning Sports Personality of the Year 2006. She deserves it for her achievements as a sportswoman. I don't usually follow equestrian events but her personality and grit has really shone through this year.

Oh, and I'm not particularly a big fan of the 'royals', as I'm sure many people will think she's won it because of who her mother (and grandmother) is - Zara Phillips has rightly been recognised for her achievements.

Whistle for the tax bill, you will have to drag me off my land kicking and screaming like you did with my oppressed ancestors steam

Ill will, that is all I am hearing at the moment towards Zara P. The BBC reporter demonstrated ill will in asking her not so nice questions, it was not necessary, she is a winner and has had to work hard to get the European and World Championship titles, leave her alone. Let's not have another attack on Royal women just because the press pack can, just leave her alone will you!

My dear Dayi, now don't be a silly billy, you know as well as I do that the 6th Lord CrackCrack won that land fair and square off Jeremiah Dayi at the annual CrackCrack fete boar riding competition. The fact that some dastardly knave put rollerblades on Jeremiah's boars trotters just before tally ho is pure coincidence. Pay up, there's a good chap - we don't won't to have to go down the Slasher Mike and one of his dunking stool 'accidents' road again do we? peacedove

I very much doubt there will be a posh donkey rider in there show.

would be funny though, sort of like pitching the BDO afainst the PDC (bbc/sky darts)

ops I think I made the same mistake when I voted I thought it was BBC model of the year. I thought the options weren't great. How silly do I feel now.

Original comment, well said.

The rest of you, try and work on a proper eventing yard as either the rider or groom, and see how long you last. Get over yourselves, your ingnorance astounds me, and when you have given the sport a go, or gotten over your inverted snobbery, maybe then youll be adult enough to join in a proper discussion. You are pathetic.

Well done to Zara, being World and European Champ in probably one of the most dangerous sports in the world is indeed a huge achievement.

Nobody in this country watched her do it because the vast majority of us don't give a monkies about 'horsey jumping'.

Its a very small minority sport that has SPOTY winner because she is part of the royal family and not because she is any good.

It was probably the least deserved of any awards last year. No more than unwelcome crawling by the BBC, we have no proof of the "Votes" cast.
Nobody cares a minkeys for this so called "sport", which is maostly contested by 99.9% pro-hunting morons.
