Shevchenko not untouchable

Premiership Chelsea
comment on the article

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said £30.8m signing Andriy Shevchenko is not one of his "untouchable" stars.

The Blues boss insisted he would never bow down to pressure from club owner Roman Abramovich to pick the striker, who joined last summer.

"If Abramovich doesn't trust the manager, he has enough money to sack me," he said.

"Sheva is not untouchable because of the way he is playing. I play the best players at the time."

Does Shevchenko deserve a place in the Chelsea starting XI?

I would have to agree with Eto's comments on Sheva, "At Milan everyone plays football and for a forward this is crucial because you have more scoring possibilities. Chelsea play more defensive football and the two strikers struggle." he said, wich is correct.

I would add that in Chelsea everyone plays for them selves, the need to impress the boss makes this team a bad team and will never win the Champions League for this. They struggle to win in the EPL for this, they just don't give the strikers that many chances to score.

i think, this is Mourinho way.he is always controversial.but shev is untouchable because it is Abramovich who bought him.

I think chelsea manager went a bit
too far. It doesn't portray him as a good manager. there are other better ways of letting an employee know that he has to wake up other than making inferior to his colleage.however, I admire Joes' skill as a coach.

"Untouchables"...? Henry scored 1 in 12 games when he came to Arsenal because he was bought as a winger. Funnily enough, wingers don't score as many as strikers!

Its true sheva is potentially the most untouchable person on the day mourinho just wanted to add a bit of controversy and make him wake up and perfotm

Why do you lots always have to misrepresent everything Mourinho says? He said there are nine untouchables. the only two starters that as at now, are not in that category, are the folks at the right full back and sheva. and that is not difficult to see, seeing that only those two positions are regularly changed. he said, the players have been told this and assured that they can hold down regular positions by making their statements on the pitch. What the heck is wrong with this? the man knows how to get the best out of his team. and he has proven this over the years by having as minimal disquiet in the squad as possible. You lots should stop pretending to be concerned about effect on other players. mourinho is more aware of that than you.

People who are making comments on Sheva are the same people that underestimated the value of players like Deschamp when he played for CFC, the same people who were calling for Drogbas head last year as well no doubt. Every player who comes from a different league needs time to adjust to the pace of the premier league. Lets see how Sheva does next year and then make judgement.

yeah sheva deserves a starting shirt because he is not playing in front of drogba so he doesnt have enough chance to operate when he gets a little ball he has to feed drogba so i suggest sheva gets a starting line up cos he is a great player who brings troble to the opponent defence

well he is the man at the helm of chelsa and he knows his guys well.i dont think Mourihno is wrong about his comments on shev what shev has to do is pull up his socks .One thing that shev shld remember is he has been geting the nod ahead of Solomon so he need just to pull up his socks and hope for beter things next season. If he is to be frustrated with the press or the manager or the owner he wont get far with his carier.he at one time was the world best striker should remember that and cary on were he left.keepon keeping on shev
