Greenen (U6602522) posted Dec 9, 2006 Moyes said after the debacle at Old Trafford that his team could leave Manchester with their heads held high. This is real cuckoo speak. Everton were just played with by a half Utd team. Dont get me wrong, there are many 3 point "fodder" teams in the Premiership. I am sure that Utd, Chelsea, maybe Arsenal and perhaps Liverpool are all counting on picking up easy 3 home points when they play Newcastle, Spurs, Everton, City, Boro, and these are the established Premier teams.. just look at the statistics over the past 3 years and test this conjecture.. Everton and the like will survive because of the TV money, the shirt sales and the medium level of gate receipts. They cannot hope to compete with the 3 or 4 teams that have the money to buy world class goalscorers and creative mid field players. Mid table blues, im afraid is the long term reality

tommythfc (U6837131) posted Dec 10, 2006 Ye you played well against everton and its good to see ya doin well without splashing the cash. Gotta say tho i cant see ya being where you are at the end of the season. The major teams such as spurs, liverpool and Villa will go above you. I can see you finishing 9th but compare that to last season is great for you. Well done pompey. posted Dec 10, 2006 also, to however asked Taylor isn't in the England squad because he plays for Portsmouth. If he played for Liverpool, he'd have been in there ages ago. posted Dec 10, 2006 Wait, I could be wrong... The commentator during the match just after the goal says "...and that's why Steve McLaren is looking at Matthew Taylor" or something along those lines... perhaps he was at the game? Or something? We can hope at least.

Boilermakers Hump (U1773366) posted Dec 11, 2006 Interesting that some of the pundits once again put forward the argument that Everton lost due to the fact that they had several players injured. Sigh. Do they not know that we were playing without our first choice left back, without our (arguably) best midfielder? Add to this the fact that we played for some of the second half without a recognised forward. Comment on this article |
