WGSScottish Premier Celtic by 67myfavouriteposition (U6628330) 06 December 2006 If it were possible, could you make a tactically astute manager by combining Martin O'Neill and Gordon Strachan as neither of them had or seem to have any tactical awareness when it comes to taking the team away from home. nelly1888 (U6807494) posted Dec 7, 2006 Stachan stated after Lisbon he knew what was wrong with the team and why they played the way they did. If that is the case why did he not solvethe problem, apart from the weather it could have been Lisbon again.

Check your facts before you open your mouth next time cos it just makes you look stupid.

Black&GoldForever (U4614303) posted Dec 7, 2006 Despite Celtic's poor away CL record, you have to remember that last night's defeat came from a team that was undefeated at home in 3 CL games this year, conceding only one goal (to Celtic).

Far from being a liability, he is the attacking fulcrum of the team and we don't have another player of his skill or positional awareness.

wheatbeard (U5771859) posted Dec 8, 2006 Simple fact is your defenders aren,t good enough to compete in europe, they may well cope with Inverness Cally thistle but opponents in the Champions league have badly exposed your defensive frailty. Balde is physical but clumsy in every other department, Caldwell looks like a nervous schoolboy and your full backs have both struggled in the championship with Wolves and Saints respectively. Strachan needs to invest in two quality centre halves before you get turned over in the away leg.

crisp_boyd (U6451450) posted Dec 8, 2006 I must say you're being a bit harsh on the lads. They qualified for the last 16 didn't they? and as for Copenhagen they were in the champions league so they can't be that bad. I mean they beat man u in denmark n drew with benfica. Maybe you could say that they have the exact same problem as celtic. They cant win away from home. So you could say that it cost them a place in the last 16? Comment on this article |
